Had a run-in with one of their types at a store I owned. Fat autist almost physically attacked another guy because he got angry that people actually played with items on. Try as I might, I can't dissociate competitive Smash from that fucker.
Weirdly enough, the game in question was Brawl and not Melee.
Always liked fourside and fountain of dreams. I wish fourside looked more like it did in earthbound through.

Kind of a shame, but a few bad ingredients can spoil the pot. A lot of the competitive scene is actually super chill.
