There isn't a single video game that is better than this. There just isn't and we all know it. It mixes both story and gameplay and juggles it but in the end it feels absolutely right and I couldn't imagine shootdodging through a room without Max mentioning how harsh and painful life actually is. Someone recommended I pick up Max Payne almost a year ago. I'm definitely glad I did. I agree that 2 is not as good as 1, but it's definitely better than some of the third person shooters out there. Is 3 about as good as 1?

People dislike it mainly due to the huge tonal shift from the first two. People liked MP cause it was a fantastic fusion of '50s noir movies and the work of guys like John Woo and Ringo Lam, with a little bit of David Lynch thrown in. Of course when it turns into "Michael Mann Goes to Brazil", it's going to annoy people.

The gameplay was amazing that I can admit, but we all know that 3 shouldn't have ended with Max walking off in the sunset, even Sam Lake said that he'd take a different route.
