Which games based on a movie/tv show/cartoon were surprisingly good?
Pic related is definitely nice.
Was this any good?
Solid gameplay and amazing soundtrack.
>>320278915
I fucking loved this gam, though I always dreaded the sewer level
>>320279142
I remember that one, not bad
>all these goat PS2 games
Best movie game imo, Op's is a great pick too.
Was there any good X-Files game?
I though the SNES ren and stimpy game was alright, although it was pretty disturbing.
>>320279421
Legitimately a REALLY good game, excellent even.
Castlevania lite
This was great, although unfinished and easy. My PC was fugged at the time, so I had to play it on PS3. Every time would went into a new area the frame rate shit itself so hard. I don't even think there's any 3D models, what was so taxing?
Don't know if this was actually good, but I remember having fun with it. Skating around was fun.
>>320279807
Great fucking game. Fighting insects and dinosaurs with spears was pre gud
I guess it wasn't actually that good, it was kinda crappy but I can't forget it
>>320280026
> not war of cybertron
> not enjoying escalation with your buddies
you dun fucked up
>>320282040
They're both great, I just posted Fall because it came later.
This game was one of the reasons I bought a Vita.
>>320278751
I actually just got done playing this game 10 mins ago. Great pick OP.
Astro-Boy for GBA was fuckin' amazing.
(It's from a manga, but still a tie-in!)
But what was the most disappointing one?
>>320281951
I feel like it's overrated these days because realize how surprising it was that it turned out to be a mild success and it played well
>>320283049
The answer has always been ET on Atari
>>320283291
Well okay, let's limit it to ps2 and above
Played the shit out of this with my sisters
>>320283049
The. Fucking. Worst.
>>320283651
There is one worse. But only one worse.
>>320283651
There is a Godzilla game on the PS4?
>>320282589
The games for the original movie were really good as well. It had quite a few different gameplay things depending on SNES or Genesis, like first-person or racing segments.
The graphics were especially amazing at the time.
>This is an SNES game
>>320283796
It also on the PS3, but both version look like they belong on the PS2
The Hercules one for PS1.
Also, Spiderman 2.
>>320283803
Oh fuck I forgot about this game
If I remember right it was pretty hard
>>320283903
didnt this come out on the n64 as well?
>>320284307
It was on fucking everything
>Game Boy Color
>Game Boy Advance
>Windows
>PlayStation
>Nintendo 64
>Dreamcast
>PlayStation 2
>GameCube
The GC/PS2 versions were the best ones though. The PC version was fucking werid.
>>320278751
IT SHINES!
>>320284174
Yeah I remember it being hard too. Pretty sure I never came close to beating it.
>example of the racing and FPS portions
I think I need to go back and beat it as an adult now
anybody?
>>320281796

>>320284575
Mah nigguh.
>>320281580
>play it on PS3
there's your problem
The PC version of this had a GOAT soundtrack.
>>320284525
>that fucking alien toy
Motherfucker wasn't there a level where you had to move through one of those stuffed doll machines with them?
Found it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1IJ3RCDLj8
That fucking shit
>>320284575
I actually got that with my Gamecube along with Luigi's Mansion and Mario Sunshine. I never beat it though, I think a door that was supposed to open glitched out and never did on my file.
>>320282589
fug
I rather play it on my PC though, never manage to get pass the alleyway level.
>>320281796
good game
>>320281796
>post YFW robots
I loved this game
I DON'T WANT TO BE TOLD TO GROW UP! AND I'M NOT GOING TO CHANGE, SO YOU BETTER GIVE UP!
Anyone else played this?
https://youtu.be/Scl6cwrS3ts?t=1m29s
I found it frustrating as a kid
>>320278751
>sandy levels
>>320278751
That game fucking sucked. I should know, I was forced to play it with my little brother with my mother.
>>320285073
I kind of hate them to be honest
>>320278751
I'm thinking about emulating this game
Which platform should I emulate?
>>320284920
How on Earth did they manage all of that on 16-bit? I guess that's the benefit of the cartridge system
>>320285073
>Dream bubbles
>>320285041
IM JUST A KID AND LIFE IS A NIGHTMARE
>>320285041
I GOT A LITTLE HUNCH THAT THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON NOW!
>>320283490
Best movie game
>>320285073
>The kelp forest slide
>>320278751
More /vr/ than /v/ but it's fucking great.
>>320283490
WIND OF THE MOUNTAIN, I COMMAND YOU
>>320285067
I think I rented that once. I never got very far in it though
>>320284575

>>320279807
>Played this on pc
>Fun as shit
>Get to the part where you play donkey kong
>Control schemes are fucked
>Stop playing
I should reinstall it but damn there's no reason you should have to play the monkey especially when controls we're shit
Literally Git Gud: The Game
>>320285618
Easily among the best. The ability to switch characters and tackle stages differently was amazing. Castlevania 3 had it to an extent but I think Bucky did it a lot better
Years ago, my older bro asked If I wanted a game, I asked for Battle for bikini Bottom
He got me Spiderman 2 instead. Today it still has a "New Release!" on it, which is pretty fun to look at.
>>320284575
I remember renting this on ps2 i think. I don't think it left much of an impression.
>>320278751
>Tfw THQ will no longer come back and publish these licensed gems
>>320286428
And then there was the first one that was essentially Super Mario 64. I still don't know what to think of it.
>>320285504
Kelp forest in general really. Shit's so fucking dark on my tv.
There's a Rugrats game with Spyro levels that has a Crash Bandicoot styled level select.
I think it's called Royal Ransom.
>>320278751
>>320279142
>>320281580
>>320282589
These. These were good.
>>320286648
>>320285504
Kelp Forest is where I pretty much gave up as a kid. Need to pick that game up again.
>>320286095
NES-era Konami was best Konami. Pic related is another great licensed game game of the era and by Konami, dat motherfucking co-op.
>>320286673
I remember playing that
A shame I lost my copy of the game
>>320282589
I had this, but never knew what to do in the first level. I don't know if the PC version is any different from your version, though.
All of these games I'd rent or buy and love as a kid, that today I wouldn't even bother to try, let alone enjoy.
I want to go back to simpler times /v/.
>>320281425
>Samurai Jack is getting a New Season on adult swim next year made by the same people who did the original
What a time to be alive.
>>320286428
that game had no right being good
>>320278915
Pretty decent, actually good if you're a big fan of the series.
>>320286808
Of course if anyone mentioned NES co-op in a thread with this subject I have to post Chip and Dale
>>320287273
Maaaaah nigga!
>>320283651
Don't you dare talk shit about my kaiju.
That's a great game, not amazing, but a great Godzilla game.
>>320287631
finally!
>no picture of Spiderman 2 for the Playstation 2
that game is a solid 8/10 no nostalgia gogglessince i just played it 2 years ago
It's impressive how the swinging mechanic carries the whole game to another level while the rest of it is average.
sadly too short.
>>320287460
It was like River City Ransom in that it featured friendly fire (to an extent) and as a result any time I played with a friend or my brother it was only a matter of time before a mistake was made and it turned into a battle between us.
Good stuff. I miss being a kid.
>>320287631
Dont have a picture but does anyone remember Lotr Battle for Middleearth? One of the best Rts games i've played
>>320287970
>it was only a matter of time before a mistake was made and it turned into a battle between us.
The NES had a pretty big library of these kind of games, so many broken friendships and fits of rage.
>>320288232
It's not that old
>>320288506
All the recent Mario games with co-op let you pick up other players, in theory to carry worse players over difficult sections. In practice this leads to a lot of people being thrown into pits.
>>320288668
I just know they did that to piss others off. Some of my playthroughs turned into "throw each other into fucking pits" marathons.
>>320281425
hell yea
>>320278751
The movie game was good too.
>>320288668
I remember that from the Wii one (i think), it's a lot more entertaining than playing the game like it was supposed to. You could do the same thing in Chip&Dale as well, if i recall correctly.
>>320281796
Stupidest goddamn plot of any game ever. Also robots.
>>320278751
I've always had a penchant for King of the Hill Online. Shame they're shutting down soon.
>>320289087
You can also bounce off of people's heads and spike them into pits like in Smash Bros, good times
>>320287631
>not the Genesis version
>>320288668
I think it shows that the greatest enemy we have is the one inside ourselves.
>>320289246
Don't start this shit discussion. They're fundamentally different games and both are fantastic.
>>320289380
>Whoever gets the highest score at the end of a stage gets a crown on the next stage
>Ending the stage with the crown on your head gets you bonus points
>Other players can steal your crown
>End up burning through 99 lives in like three worlds worth of co-op
Is there a better Super Hero game?
>>320288668
>can bounce off off, throw, and push players in NSMB series
>Return to Dreamland lets you hang on to a player, ride on their head, inhale/spit them, or steal abilities
>Rayman Origins and Legends let you beat the shit out of each other, Origins allowed you to hit others during chase scenes
>3D World has everything NSMB had plus the points crown and stages with the platforms that flip when someone jumps
>that library in the kids section
>that hotel full of the webs
>dat Stay Puft boss battle
>>320289892
Spiderman 2 is the competitor.
>>320289892
God damn, I loved everything about this game. Fighting Hulkbusters was so satisfying.
>Grab an enemy
>Run up the side of a skyscraper
>Piledrive it to the ground
>BOUNCE ON IMPACT like 3-4 times
>hurl the corpse at another enemy
>mfw
>>320290671
>that shitty netcode for multiplayer
Yes I'm still mad that the Gozer's Most Wanted was bugged for me
>>320288932
I like the soundtrack.

Any game with this badass in them
>>320281951
>the clicking animation is locked in my mind forever
>>320291125
My negro
>ripping a car in two and using the mangled parts as gauntlets
>thunderclapping a city block to the ground
>>320282589
played on my PS1, can confirm that is was great
>>320283783
>>320288232
good campaign was GOAT due to horse archers and lolelves raping everything
>>320289503
>tak
>>320289892
I honestly liked this way better than Prototype, despite them being basically the same game. Everything felt so much better, with the Hulks weight behind it, instead I being the tiny Mercer.
