Sword and board or two-handed weapons?

buckler strapped and pollaxe
most games: either a twohander or dualwielded
Souls: sword and board

Twohander, always,
>game has an attack that scales with defense
>dual wield shields
Sword and shield. Theres a certain appeal to the mundaness of it. Shields are also essentially another cosmetic to invest in.

shoot you from afar, always.
I usually go with 2 hander because shields in games almost always are just a thing that increase defense and nothing else, 2 handers simply do more damage. Dragons Dogma did it right, there are full on move sets for attacking with a shield.

is there a game that does this?
I've always kind of wanted this.
>shield bash / bull rush everything to death
magic
alternatively, sword and board 100% of the time

Dark Souls.

Bravely Default's Knight job has this.
A horse, a lance, a shield, a sword and my faith in the lordget fucked muayyad

>teleports behind you
always

>>320260156
>kill all my enemies instantaneously and effortlessly
magic
Shields are for pussies. Two handed or dual wield all the way.

>Game has a skill that lets you carry 2 handed weapons one handed
>Carry 2 massive swords into battle

Two handed is compensating for something and dual wield is "cool mysterious skillful" character. You can apply bullshit to literally any archtype/weapon.Except polearms
