Should I use PCX2 or PPSSPP? I mean for PSP games were also ported to the PS2 such as Vice City Stories or R&C Size Matters. Because I'm doubtful of how many games actually had improved visuals on the PS2, and in terms of resolution I'm going to upscale them both anyway.
Was Vice City Stories an underrated gem?

YOu should decide that on a game by game basis.
Compare the differences and see what you like more.
Generally speaking ppsspp is a better emulator than pcsx2 though, even if pcsx2 runs most of the games pretty good.

You should only get it for the looks though. The game itself isn´t that good and horrible to control on pc (you walk by dragging the mouse over a virtual ball in the direction you want to go)

It has been working for a long time. The only thing you have to do is start it in software mode and do a full boot, go into a race where 3d geometry has been loaded and then switch to hardware mode. Otherwise the sky will be black. Inconvenient but burnout 3 is worth the trouble.

I can run a good amount of SNES games at full speed but games that use the SuperFX chip or certain games like FFVI don't run all too well. I believe if you have kernel access you can manage to increase the efficiency of certain emulators

My biggest issue with it was that late game you were bombarded with those base defence missions during freeplay, literally all you did if you wanted to keep them.
I've been emulating Twilight Princess, the gamecube version. It runs great but in Hyrule Field I get bad slowdown. I've tried playing around with various settings but no luck. I'm like 80% of the way into the game at this point anyway, so fuck it. I'm just worried about the Ganondorf fight, but I imagine maybe the game doesn't load the full area but rather the small arena you're confined to.

Hyrule Field Slow Down[edit]
As the player progress through the game, Hyrule Field will become progressively slower. To fix it, enable the "Hyrule Field Speed Hack" in the ISO properties (right click the game in the game list > Properties > Patches tab > Hyrule Field Speed Hack). The NA and EU releases had the patch added to their GameINIs in 4.0-1767, then JP was added in 4.0-7318.
Unfortunately, the hack will reduce the quality of the minimap, so be warned.
