It's Bethesda not knowing/not giving a shit about previously established lore, but I don't mind the whole Fusion Core thing. People made it out to be that you could only walk around in Power Armor for a few minutes, which would've made it realistically impractical, but one Core lasts a long while.

The problem for me is people like the Atom Cats walking around with actual Power Armor.

And the whole Jet being different is a pointless discussion because yes Jet is made with shit and yes you find prewar jet in the game. That does not mean that Jet was made before the war or that every wastelander refers to expired asthma inhaler as Jet.

And the whole power armor being different is true. But i actually like it since power armor was the be all and end all armor in every other fallout and if anything it was bullshit it didn't need power in the other games.

While Fallout 4 certainly isn't my GOTY, and I think their lore is shite, my hours spent in it keep creeping up every weekend. I spend most of my time exploring with Curie and building shit, or doing detective work with Nick Valentine. Most of the actual quests in the game and other characters tend to be shit, so that should tell you something about the state of Bethesda's so-called "creative" team.

Way too many missed opportunities, imo. What this game reminds me of is Rage. Like, if you took Rage, added a massive amount of freedom, some RPG elements from Borderlands, along with a similar loot system, then added a decent crafting system, but a mediocre building system.

Only thing missing is buggy races.

I really enjoyed getting the power armour training in NV but the downside for me, personally, was having to do the Vault 34 quest. Having the power armour feels more deserved in NV to me.

It's pretty smart how they front loaded all the new features in the game because you can't actually *use* any of it to its full potential; the power armor breaks and needs power forcing you to explore, Sanctuary provides just enough resources to build some basic things but forces you to leave and find rarer parts for the cool stuff. It's actually good from a game design perspective because it motivates the people who don't care about story and just want to dick around in Wasteland Simulator 2288

Bethesda has sort of become the people that give you a framework to a really awesome house, and you can see the potential there, but you realize that they suck at delivering a finished product, so they rely on other people to mod, or take what they started work on and polish it for them. What did it improve. I'm not saying it's a bad game by any means. It's just extremely underwhelming as a sequel. No graphics improvements, no gameplay improvements and reused soundtrack. It follows also the very same structure of FO1 but there isn't even a big faction like BOS that you can join like in FO1. Anyone here that didn't feel like the three BOS bases weren't a gigantic dissapointment? Two of them aren't even bases, just two entrances without elevators.

Yeah but it didn't improve the awful combat, the awful overview with still no option to make walls completely transparent and it was not a good decision to make the best armor in the game also a disguise that can go into any enemy territory without any problems. Also without a car and good outdoor skills it's completely luck to survive a trip to navarro.

that's why you just stroll down to navarro at level 1 and bullshit your way into getting a free set of power armor and a plasma rifle. I tag energy weapons at the start of the game and have 100 in it by the time I return to klamath. It's fun.
