I'm looking for a portable PC to carry back and forth. what does /v/ recommend?
>>
a laptop or notebook, duh.
>>
>>320246161
Depends on what quality you want.

If you want something on par with ps4/X1 then a 900 dollar laptop will do it for you.
>>
Needs to be gaymin quality, preferably not a laptop.
>>
I want it to play newer games fallout 4 fairly decently
>>
>>320246161
build yourself a m-ITX gaming rig then.

going to have to go closed loop liquid cooler to make it all fit and properly cooled.

SSD because they can take vibrations of being moved and a 970 or 980 will do for the gpu.

and get an intel quad core.

gamebryo cant take advantage of more than two cores effectivly so anything more than a quad core for games is stupid.

Thanks for the response m80. I've never built a machine with liquid cooling. How much more difficult is it than a traditional heat sink?

If you want power in a small(ish) package without paying too much; go mini-ITX.

My whole system cost me $1,500, including the whole PCs, keyboard, mouse and monitor.
>>
>>320247528
you dont need fucking liquid cooling

get the smallest mITX case you can find and put a fury nano in there
>>
>>320247528
closed loop cooling, CLC, is maintenance free, no filling no mess, its as hard to install as a regular heat-sink. you dont have to worry about flipping them on the side and wondering if they stop working. They are much cheaper then when they were first introduced and you can get them to fit almost anything now, graphics cards are even starting to come with them attached because they work so well.

Should say this was Strayan Dollarydoos. You should be able to a similar build and set up for around $1,000 USD nowadays.
>>

What gpu and processor are you running?

Where? I see some drives, your CPU cooler, and I think that is your PSU in the top right yes? Where is the video card? Id love to build something like this.
>>
>>320248260
Sorry!
>>
>>320248206
See >>320247635.

Maxes out Fallout 4 at 85fps, (60fps V-Sync) at 1080p. That's including Godrays which is notoriously difficult for lower end-GPUs and all AMD Radeons.
>>
>>320247528

Liquid cooling is a shitty meme.
>>
>>320246161
Shill tip number 9000 open a thread asking for recommendations and post the link to your product. ITS SUPER EFECTIVE!

PSU and HDD is bottom left

CPU/Mobo/Cooler is bottom right.

Blu-Ray Writer is top left, SSDs are top right.

My GTX 980 is underneath the Blu-Ray and SSDs.

The case is pic related.
>>
>>320248393

Everything about liquid cooling is better.
>>
>>320248652
This is just wrong, explain further and you might be right.

Including the tubing fracturing and frying your parts >>320248036?

I'm sick of having absolutely no room in my current old case so for my next build I'm going with a full tower, should be fucking plenty of space now

Both of you are wrong and fucking retarded.
>>
>>320248851
Frying your parts? No one intelligent is using water for their coolant.

well worth it.

your smartphone, use a pc streaming app.
>>
Nobody here is going to admit it, but if you already have a good build for home you can pick up a Alienware Alpha for around $400, possibly less then a mITX build.

Thing is tiny, like Mac Mini tiny. I've been thinking about picking one up for my tv, since the Steam link has been giving me problems.
