You know I can overlook minor bugs in a game as great as New Vegas, but for the first time in a playthrough I deviated from the awesome but tiresome on repeat progression through Goodpsrings to Nipton to Novac etc. It's been an awesome playthrough (was supposed to be an LP but it didn't record properly for some reason, and it was going well too). I basically looted a stealth boy and some magazines from Springs then went into the hills behind it as a sneaky look skywalker in rags with just binoculars and back-up arms character, found myself in a camp of dead raiders, made off with a fireaxe, found myself in a lovely green valley with a park, then in Red Rock where I stole the Legion faggot's crap and a potential blackmail note, before finding a nice drug couple to supply me and heading back out to find myself surrounded on all sides by Deathclaws, Fire Geckos and Cazadores, unable to get back to Goodsprings despite it being just a few hills away (how the town survives I don't know). So with no choice I found myself between the Fiends and Deathclaws in the Repconn building trying to find a stealthboy to get back to Goodsprings.
And after such an awesome playthrough, both my save and autosave are broken, and the loading screen freezes. For real.
Any way around this? I've tried loading multiple times but it just freezes. Does it ever unfreeze after a while? Seriously this fucking sucks, it's been such a fun playthrough.
Also any thoughts as to why Bandicam didn't record properly?
try starting a new game, then once that is loaded, load the save you want to load.
ASSUMING you're using mods, post your load order.

Thats something you should blame the garbage that is gamebryo for though or Bethesda for never bothering to fix it, because I had thesame shit in F3 and F4.

Having left Repconn and looted it for all I could at my level of lockpick and science, I made for Black Mountain, and managed to get to the top of the "mountain" in less than a minute by just going up the cliff edge. I sneaked around and managed to somehow kill some nightkin through sheer luck and a pristine Laser Rifle. I then looted Tabitha's lair, killed her with the aid of drugs and super stimpacks, then found Raul and set him free, and we fought our way down the mountain (really overpowered companion, which is useful because I'm still only level 4 or 5). Marcus thanked us and we sneaked past the deathclaws and stopped off in Sloan for a bit, looted the place and now we're headed back to Goodsprings to finish our business and ask some questions and loot the place, and get patched up because Black Mountain completely irradiated me, although I managed to get the brotherhood holotape which'll come in useful later. With Raul on my side the powder gangers don't stand a chance, not that they do anyway, so it's Goodsprings and then Primm after a long but helpful detour.
