I couldn't justify getting into it with the annoying voice chat. You need it to communicate efficiently since basically nobody uses the regular chat seriously, but it's so goddamn annoying to hear kids saying Kappa and spamming Smash Mouth or JOHN CENA shit. The more annoying thing is that I really liked Insurgency because it was a better Counter Strike with a more serious playerbase.
Well there was a patch almost a year ago that made the game virtually unplayable on my computer, and until recently it wasn't fixed. I came back to, again, nothing but kids quoting memes every 15 seconds or micspamming.

CS was always known for having a great community, players lived by the idea that you always learned from a loss and used it to better yourself. Ontop of that you had a wonderful pub system that saw each server build up it's own unique community where you could play with and against the same people every day building up your friendships and rivals.
What killed CSGO was skins and matchmaking. With skins you have people focusing on something totally unrelated to gameplay and it waters down the community with a large amount of people who just aren't that good from a skill or personality standpoint. Matchmaking is also a dirge to everything and anything competitive and community related, instead of people focusing on their skills they now focus on a completely arbitrary ladder ranking. instead of having nice discussions about the game you find that people have overinflated egos over their meaningless rank and do nothing but shitpost about those they feel are below them.

I've only had one bad match and it was a couple kids who were "boyfriend and girlfriend" or some other shit acting obnoxious and another one going along with it. The 3rd one threw the bomb in the boxes at long doors after we got fucking stomped on for the entire game so I killed him.

because there are 64 packets of data being routed through a multitude of servers and routers, sometimes across oceans or seas, into servers that are serving hundreds of players across multiple servers trying to play a game that requires 0.05ms accuracy.
