Would you buy a sandbox Harry potter role playing rpg game from the obsidian?
probably
>Philospher's Stone
Is that a chinese knockoff or something?
No
>>320208201
No again
>>320208201
Sorcerer's Stone is actually Philosopher's Stone in UK, it got changed before being published here
Only if it's set in a world in which Voldemort won.
>>320208112
Probably. LEGO version's the best we're gonna get though, and I'm fine with that.
>>320208201
Are you blind?
Maybe if it came out before the 7th book was released.
>>320208201
That's the actual title of the book. It was changed for North America.
No, only by Bethesda :^)
>>320208201
The American publisher had it changed to Sorcerer's Stone because they assumed American children would be too stupid to know what the word Philosopher meant. I'm not even kidding.
>>320208112
What is academagia?
>>320208532
A game with shitloads of features but no soul or actual fun to it
>>320208532
I tried to play it as a girl character
Wasn't fun at all
>>320208636
>>320208694
If you ignore the spreadsheet simulator and just go on adventures it is great fun.
>>320208112
>KOTOR 2 - Harry Potter edition
>Azkaban was a mistake
>Use magic in actually interesting, universe-breaking ways.
All of my yes.
>>320208360
That would have been interesting but magic doesn't work that way in the Harry Potter universe. Magical blood cannot be 'diluted'.
>>320208834
That's just what the Ministry of Magic wants you to think.
>>320208360
Magic doesn't really work like that in Harry Potter, though.
>>320208834
thats exactly what the Mudbloods want you to think.
>>320208360
>muggleborn studies
which was already an established course at Hogwarts
>flagrant displays of magic are illegal on school grounds
which was the case for most of the books
Also, whoever wrote this seems to forget that squibs existed already, not to mention the fact that the most capable witch in the literary universe was mudblood.
What about one made by Atlus
>>320208890
>>320208908
Who do I listen to!?
>>320208961
That's Persona.
>>320208360
my sides
>>320208201
>not knowing fullmetal alchemist
>>320208997
Why not both?
>>320208997
You either listen to the whiny black-haired kid who can't seem to win without the help of everyone else around him, or the hideous sorcerer with an army of loyalists and murderous fauna at his disposal.
I never actually read past the third book as a kid. Are the rest of them worth reading?
>>320208997
you had your chance.
why didn't we just listen to him.also what the fuck was up with wizards all wearing nice tailored modern muggle clothes in the movies, ruins the whole point being wizards dress silly
>>320208360
>kek i equated fiction to my nigger obsession how epic is that
when will this dumb fad die
>>320209262
4th was my favorite, 5th is alright, 6th is about Harry's love life, and the 7th was complete shit.
>>320209262
Fourth book is the peak of the series. It's all downhill from there.
>>320209273
I'm assuming because the costume designers wanted to be able to change things up instead of everyone in plain black robes all the time.
>>320208112
Do I get to AK that bitch Umbridge in the middle of her worthless class?
>>320209126
>implying the philosopher's stone originated in Fullmetal Alchemist
wew lad
>>320208112
Can't see how it would be good. Tell me how this game would be.
>>320209710
Good
>>320209262
In terms of "shit happening", 4th is a holding pattern that introduces some weird gimmick that never comes up again, but otherwise is pretty great.
5th book is a doorstop on the scale of a Robert Jordan book and covers the organization Order of the Phoenix in about as much detail, otherwise meh.
6th book is alright, Snape kills Dumbledore because prophecies bullshit, shit's laid out for the grand finale.
7th book is 90% dicking around in the woods looking for artifacts, 10% characters dying, and has an ending so goddamn saccharine that it retroactively removes any potential serious moments the series had.
If you're interested, download the audiobook versions, the guy reading them is pretty on-point with the voices.
>>320209650
Now this I would pay to play.
>>320209710
It's from obsidian, so:
>doesn't have half of promised content
>fanfic tier writing, so expect to play as son of Snape and Dumbledore
>full of bugs
>only one house will make sense
>>320208201
It's the actual title of the book but retarded Americans wouldn't know what the philosophers stone is so they changed it for them.
>>320209697
Anon, at the very least someone should know of the Philosopher's Stone from that series.
Most people here are too stupid to know of it otherwise.
>>320210038
Buttmad bethesdrone detected.
>>320208493
But at that time the kids had full metal alchemist and shit
>>320209892
4th had the best twist and climax of the series, it was kind of bizarre to see it in the middle of basically nothing happening.
>>320210253
Was that particular anime very popular amongst young children in 1997?
>>320210253
Check your timelines before you say retarded shit son
>>320208112
I'd buy a hyper-realistic VR Sandbox Harry Potter game.
Anything else, probably not.
>>320210253
>all kids are autistic
>>320208201
It's Sorcerer's Stone in the US as far as I know
>>320208112
I would play it by CDprojekt
>dicking around in medieval Europe
>imperiusing muggles wenchs for fucks
>broom races
>early quidditch matches, more brutal
>plot about political scene, basically wizards trying to run things from the shadows
>founders gimmicks
>Ciri cameo
It's perfect.
>>320210550
>>320210038
That's Bethesda you're describing
>>320208112
Quidditch would be a cool concept if the scoring system weren't so retarded
>snitch is worth 15 times the only other method of scoring points
>nearly every single time someone catches the Snitch it wins them the game; the few exceptions being so incredibly rare that betting on them is considered a suicide bet
>>320208112
I'd buy any Harry Potter game that'd let me explore a fully realized Hogwarts and it's environs.
>>320212062
If the Snitch just stopped the game when caught, it'd probably be more interesting. No points awarded.
>Obsidian
Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot sick
>>320212062
The real life version of quidditch reduced it to 30 points.
>>320208112
If it's from Obsidian I'm interested but I'll have to see how it is first, don't care one way or the other about harry potter.
>>320208112
>Would you buy a (...) game from obsidian?
yes
No, but I'd buy one from an actually competent developer.
>>320209642
I figure its because of the change in directors. first two films were pretty accurate to the costumes, everyone in robes all the time. It was Prisoner that everyone started wearing muggle clothes under the robes and in their free time.
Pfft, if I was invited to wizard school and was a wizard, fuck jeans and shit robes and wizard hat all day erry day for me.
>>320212735
>The real life version
Can we talk about how fucked Voldemort and the Death Eaters would have been if they actually did try and invade the human world?
Even the top tier spells in the HP world wouldn't have done much but mildly inconvenience an army.
>>320216341
Depends, are we taking movie feats into consideration?
Regardless, it would be a guerrilla force with access to ethereal beings that can suck out people's souls, they could probably win if they stayed hidden.
>>320212062
Yeah but the books took the time to show that most games last so long that 150 isn't too much of a lead. Remember the world cup.
