Have you ever played a game where your most memorable playthrough was the second time?
I remember there was a Golden Sun game that you could beat in 5 minutes just by selecting "no" when some old guy asks you to save the world.
Metal gear solid on hardest difficulty. Balls to the walls!

That was the first one. If you refused, the world ended and you were kicked back to the title screen.

golden sun 1, after the entire village temple bit you go back to the village and explain to the elder what happens
"so isaac, what say you, will you go on a journey to say the world?"

Uncharted 2. GTAIV. Mainly because I skipped cutscenes the first time.

Shenmue 2. At first I found it boring and nowhere as good as the first. 2nd time playing it made it my all-time favorite game. I think it's because I matured and gained more patience.

this nier was much better the 2nd time

Almost every MGS release. There was just so many little details.

My first playthrough of Mass Effect was as a male, pure Paragon route and it was okay. Second playthrough as my angry chocolate Femshep was 100% better.
Resident Evil 4. I always have more fun with NGs since I don't have to conserve ammo as much.
The Witcher 2.
Took the Roche path on the first play through, but going the other path blew my mind. The wilderness surrounding Vergen was brilliant, the quests were more interesting, the dwarves were total bros, and the big reveal with Saskia absolutely blew my mind since I had somehow managed to completely avoid spoilers, probably since I wasn't here when the game first came out.
Also defending Vergen against the king's onslaught was amazing.
Gothic 2
The final boss couldn't be beaten the first time because I was pure melee. The knockback effect combined with health regen made it impossible.
Second time around, became a mage/melee hybrid and was straight reking dragons and elite orc mobs without breaking a sweat.

>Wow what an asshole. That poor piggy :(

>Wait...
God I'm dumb.
Most games. There's a lot of stuff I don't notice the first time around, and sometimes I'm too focused on the gameplay.. I used to think it was because I didn't pay attention when I was a kid, but it turns out I've been stupid my whole life.
Atelier Rorona.
playing through again as vergil in DMC3 SE.

it kind of weakened the 3rd chapter though. Not being able to go into the city for many parts was kind of sad. Also roche was a bro, even though his route was worse.
The succubus mission and more time in the northeastern region was sweet as fuck though. One of the most beautiful vidya places

Replaying Wind Waker with me staying with the main quest and leaving all the exploration for the triforce chart hunt later on and using all the items I had for the combat made the whole game a much more enjoyable and even experience throughout the whole thing.
>>320153372Dark Souls.
Gone Home. I already knew what happened in the story and the first playthrough was a dumb rush.
The second playthrough was a lot slower and enjoyable and I really got into the mindset that fullbright wanted me to. Thanks Sarah Grayson.
>Xenoblade Chronicles.
I had actually grown tired of the game trying to grind out every side quest and then learning that I had missed a ton that expired as I progressed burned me out. I kind of plowed through the second half of the game and then came back for a NG+ a year or two later and was completely obsessed from start to finish. It helps that I actually started using characters other than Shulk that time and I figured out all the extra stuff nobody explains like crafting and massive chain attacks.

Thanks for the laugh, m8
Journey I suppose. The first playthrough was fantastic but the second time I stuck with one person, a bro with a white cloak who showed me all the collectibles and walked side by side with me into the very end. That was a really nice experience.
Iji. Went pacifist on my 2nd playthrough.
Nier. Though to be fair, some things are changed around or revealed so it's not like you're playing the EXACT same thing a second time around.

I still don't get it. It's a pig nose isn't it?

I found pacifist rather forced. Being lauded for being a retard that runs through a bullet rain made my lawful stupid meter go off the charts.

I think he means he thought it would zap the pig. However he then found out the plug doesnt zap the pig since its the power inlet

Hector Hard mode in FE7. FE is a decent series overall for 2nd playthroughs.
