Am i the only one that preffers 144hz-120hz over 4k? I've been thinking about a 4k monitor but i dont think my card can pull high on new games at those resolutions, hell probably only a titan could.

Nowadays you can actually get 144Hz 1440p TN screens for a somewhat affordable price. They seem pretty amazing, high refresh rate at a good resolution.

I have a 1440p@144Hz/Freesync screen but the resolution doesn't do much good whereas the 144Hz with FreeSync do wonders.
The biggest problem is that not many games handle 144 well - some can only take 120 before the engine breaks, most can't even do more than 60 or are outright locked to 30. The issue here simply is that in time of multiplats and console ports we rarely get decent releases. Then again there's obviously the issue that most games are designed for 1080p and do not scale with resolutions at all, causing UI woes when running anything bigger. FoV-locked games are also problematic when the resolution increase comes with a larger screen size.
That's obviously all before looking at what you need to spend on the entire system to drive high resolutions at high refresh rates to begin with and the fact that all the high-Hz panels are shit and you need to return several screens until you get a decent one.

4K + 60hz > 1080/1440 + 120hz
If you're using a 1080/1440 monitor dont waste your time running it at a higher res unless you really have the power to spare, it will look slightly better but not by much.
