Not really, I did a lot of them for my own enjoyment but I hardly do any as of recent. But I still do not see any negative effects from this, if you fight enemies when you see them and do quests that are rewarding and easily available you should be alright.

Even if it wasn't called Blossom Dance in Japan, it pretty much is. It's even a special art for Nagi that uses a special katana and shares a similar personality to Dunban (though he's more mature).

Yeah, I was expecting them to go to space or something like most JRPGs do. Even Xenoblade did it. But the story here is that Mira is trapping them so I guess it's not possible. It was clearly left unfinished for a sequel, though it was poorly done.
I enjoyed the Zu Phargh battle and having everyone fight in flying mechs for the first time.
