I liked Xillia 2's edgy as fuck story at times, but it completely clashes with the personalities of all of the Xillia 1 protagonists.

Xillia 2's story would have made so much more sense if Ludger only teamed up with gaius and muzet, who were willing to do something very simmilar in X1. Making Jude, Milla, Leiea and Elize world destroyers really fucking clashes. They would have worked great as a non-bad-ending final boss instead. Your party could have been Ludger, Julius, Gaius, Muzet and 2 other random bozos (maybe fractured dimension Milla, who joins you because she doesn't want to die or something). It would have worked so much better while leaving the core story (Ludger the world destroyer) intact.
That being said, the victor fight and the bad ending boss fight were still awesome and I liked the game overall.
