I have many more, but I'll try to explain the ones I'm the most hesitated to make as short as I can.

I already got the 60% of it done, but didn't get any attention, mostly because it was from a jam. I concepted the characters for like, literally 2 years. I'm trying to make it as accurate as if the game was made in the '82 but still stand as an original thing of its own (AKA no references from other games or shit from the 80's). If people like it I would like to make a SNES-like sequel. The problem is that its demographic is retardedly low.

Terranigma is a must play so finish that

Beyond Oasis is criminally overlooked by even SEGA fans. It's made by the same team that made Streets of Rage so you can imagine some of the neat stuff they did in terms of combat.

Not all of it was executed well but it should give you an idea of how to spice up the combat system in your game so that isn't just mash a to win.

There's some RPG elements in Beyond Oasis too. You can level up Ali's stats and strengthen up the partners he can summons. It's a short game so you should be able to blast through it.

Another good hack and slash game you can check out for inspiration is Crusader of Centy, also on the SEGA Genesis.

Being good at one doesn't necessarily imply you're good at the other, but there's a lot of overlap between the two in terms of applying logic to problem solving.

It's going great. Currently working on cutscenes. The game is otherwise near-complete. The cutscenes are entirely hand-drawn and voiced, so they're taking more time than I anticipated. A few are done so far.

I spent a solid amount of time on this single still, and it's only getting a few seconds of screentime, or zero if you skip the scene entirely! The game is otherwise an FPS about changing the direction of gravity constantly, with the whole thing structured like an old collectathon platformer. It's a strange game, but I don't care. It's the one I wanted to make for a long time.

Do you mean my Knight during the stab attack? Or the games development status in general? Both are [WIP]. I want the player to stand still during sword swings (besides special attacks) so combat with Enemies is more engaging with decisions if you want to block, dodge, or attack (with 5 attacks you can do with each weapon)

The animation.

You can have him stand in the same spot, but there's barely any motion to his stab so it just looks weak. He leans back slightly and then just slightly moves forward. His arm doesn't seem to be doing much either. There's no weight to it.

I'd rig up an animation example but I'm about to head to bed. All I can offer is some shit I quickly googled. Maybe it can give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

I will keep that in mind thanks Anon! I'm thinking about having the player launch forward (like the blue magic during the stab rockets the player forward a bit).

Here is an environment iv been working on! Started on it about 2 hours ago, but its the opening small town for the game, before the player tackles the first temple. Looking around with an Oculus Rift and leaning in and out with body/positional tracking in VR is awesome.

This, make sure you check them. Most common issue of this I found is that your inner loop is using the variables from the outer loop (i.e you forgot to replace the i's with j's)

What the fuck new is there to bring to the table?
Each of the spooks has their own gimmick, from Tokugiest's stances to the skelleton's entire movelist changing depending on what instrument you slap him with, to the Reaper's timed hits.
You can't really change the formula beyond adding shit like that, and that's entirely figured out as is. But turn based RPGs don't gain interest because of battle mechanics, they gain it from the art and story.

Thanks anon. Not sure what you mean by Mobile game unless you mean the Oculus GEAR VR, since Dream Knights is made for PC non VR and PC Oculus rift VR. I think if you mean mobile devices by themselves and not VR the touch controls would be gross.

I do have a mobile game side project in the works that is for both the GEAR VR and non-VR mobile devices that is a puzzle game called Bokube. You play as a Bunny cube that has to solve 250+ puzzle levels.

Currently working on the plot for my vidya. Why the fuck do I punish myself with a branching storyline? I currently have the camera and environment scripts set up (walls/objects fade out similar to Diablo if the player is blocked by them), so story and assets are next, then comes the actual putting it together and testing.

If all goes to plan, I'd like to have a demo available before June.

It's pretty much Microsoft Visio online. I needed something to make massive flowcharts that was easy as fuck to use and sure enough this fit the bill perfectly. I've pretty much just used text boxes and assigned a fill colour to them to get what you see. Make sure that you tie whatever you use it for to a Google drive account. I lost a good hour and a half of work yesterday when Firefox threw a shitfit and crashed.

Just go do a shitload of Unity tutorials. Coding in Unity C# is a fucking joke. I picked up that shit after a few weeks of casual attempts at their stuff. Google "unity <what you're trying to do>" and chances are you'll find someone else who has done the same thing and asked for help. There are loads of code snippets that I've copied and modified to fit what I'm doing.

Comment everything you do to explain it and you'll learn what things do easily enough.

Write them down. Once they're written down start working on simple as fuck art. Get better at art and eventually move onto programming. By the time you're 60 you might have enough talent and skill to make a game.
