The soundtrack is not only a disaster, but the whole game feels off. It's like a knockoff, where the sequel was made by Nexon or some shit and it lost all the elements that made the original Xenoblade great. I'm 75 hours in and about to start the Ares 90 grind when I next turn it on but the game has been a shitshow in many respects, I almost shed a tear because of how great the original cast and ost are in comparison to this crap.

Zelda has a chance at open-world if they look more towards Zelda 1 on the NES rather than Skyrim. 8 dungeons and the open-world is more about trying to find any landmarks that could hold a dungeon rather than completing quests. Hopefully they don't just add 130 fetch-quests and call them side-content.
I really doubt Aonuma can make a game with no handholding. But if they could make an open world game that focuses more on exploring rather than follow the quest-marker, they would beat out all the rest of the open-world trash.

From a pure musical point of view, the NLA songs aren't poorly constructed or anything, the biggest issue is how unfitting they are.
I get the impression that they asked the composer to make a song for "Los Angelos" without giving much context, and so he made one fitting the current stereotype of the city, and not one that'd fit what is the last bastion of hope for humanity.
