Really? Melee newfags seem like the opposite of that now. Have tech down but dont know how to actually fight. I got some guy like that in tourney, I was pretty intimidated when I saw him doing Fox multi-shines in hand warmers but he ended up sucking.
And then there was another guy I played in post-tourney friendlies, he waveshined me and some others across the stage a few times with Fox but couldnt follow up for shit afterwards.

S-sorry. I've spent thousands of hours playing melee but I just can't press buttons fast. If I try to increase above handicapped-level APM my hands just spaz out and don't do what I tell them to.
I've only gone to one local, not sure if I should bother going to more even though I probably won't be able to improve.

Avoid netplay, it gives you bad habits. Yeah it teaches you fundamentals but the timings can get strict in melee for certain things.
Keep going to locals, you will make friends and actually learn some tech skill since you are playing on a CRT.
