it was supposed to touch on the period before Metal gear 1 (not MGS), and why there were 2 big bosses. But it pulls it off so terribly. Firstly, Gray Fox isn't even in the game. For some reason Child Mantis is in the game and does literally nothing but control others. That alone makes no sense. Controlling dead Volgin, again makes no sense. Quiet makes no sense and frankly shouldn't even be in the game. Millers story is not explained (or who kills him), Why Ocelot chooses to help the fake Big Boss, is never explained. Why Liquid steals the Pypetal metal gear is never explained, nor makes sense since in MGS1 he has the Metal gear REX which is NO WHERE NEAR as good as the one in MGSV was. Nothing is explained about Chico and Paz and their fates (one tape that goes for like 1 minute literally says they both died and thats it), and if anything the fake Medic Big Boss is complete bullshit. He not only does way more then the actual real Big Boss, but how the fuck did he obtain all his combat abilities and stuff just with mental manipulation and psychotherapy? They literally made clones of big boss AFTER this and they still weren't as good as just mentally mindfucking some random guy so he BECOMES more powerful than Big Boss

It's ridiculous science fiction, but it does make sense given the context. Listen to the cassette tapes about Mantis. The cassette tapes manage to explain why Mantis is so susceptible to other people's feelings of revenge and also why Mantis isn't as powerful in MGS1. It's pretty impressive actually.

Debatable. Naked Snake has MGS3, MGS:PO, MGS:PW, and MGS:GZ under his belt. Venom has all of MGSV:TPP under his belt which is impressive, but doesn't match up to the resume of the real Big Boss.

Did you pay attention to the Truth records? Venom was the best soldier Big Boss had in MSF. Trained in stealth and CQC by the man himself. The mental manipulation and psychotherapy was more for making Venom believe he was the real Big Boss.

I actually like 4. The gameplay one is what lets it down a bit for me. Like, the stealth in chapter 3 is all an escort mission which was kind of lame. The stealth in chapter 4 is against those little robots instead of guards which ruins it. Chapter 5 literally has about 5-10 minutes of sneaking at the start and that's it.
