>Consoles still cant play 1080p60fps

Why is this allowed?
You'd think after 10 years they'd be able to pull it off
>>
>>320078249

Nah. They want to make people think they have cutting edge tech so next gen will be outdated pc tech running at 30 fps prob based on the 390 series
>>
man who cares about 1080p

seriously is it just me or does it seem like anything above 720p is just excessive
>>
>>320079462
It's just you
>>
>>320079462
Link to set?
>>
>>320079462
Just you m8
>>
>>320078249
Because the majority don't care about it. They only care about fun
>>
>>320078249
Do you want a good game with attention to detail and interesting quirks, or do you want 1080p-60fps?

most corporate devs will opt to boost graphics before they add anything meaningful to the graphics or story
>>
>>320079462
I agree with you, because I'd rather games are good and come out in a reasonable time frame rather than 1080p 60fps which for some reason seems to be a huge obstacle to modern game devs.

honestly it makes no difference to me if it's 720 or 1080. both are HD to me.
>>
>>320081664
I think games from the PS2 gen still look good. All they need to do is just upscale the games to 1080p, and thats it.

>>320078249
Thats why games take too long to come out and cost a trillion dollars to make OP. Because people only care about the graphics.

>VII Remake
>devs can't remake a nearly 20 year old, 45 hour rpg in anything less than multiple entire games released over years because of the absurd standard of graphical polish they hold themselves up to now

what fucking happened to this industry
>>
>>320079462
Definitely just you, although it is fair to say that the difference becomes more significant in larger televisions; you might be using a pretty small TV.
>>
There's only those two pics, and you still can't even post them in the correct order.

How important would you rate 1080p as being anons?

I have an i7 4550k and GTX 770 4gb and I'm able to run virtually everything at 60+ fps maxed on my 720p monitor from 2007. Everything looks great to me but I've never used a 1080p monitor so I dunno if the difference is worth the price tag + potential fps drops. If it helps my current 720p monitor is roughly 22 inches.
>>
>>320083990
WHY ARE YOU USING A FUCKING 770 4GB WITH A FUCKING 720P MONITOR YOU FUCKING DIP
>>
>>320084195
Because I maxed out my budget on my build. I thought I'd get a monitor when my current one died but it's been two years now and it's going strong for an 8 year old monitor.

I've got enough now to buy a new monitor now but I know jack-shit about them so I've no idea what's a good investment. I figured going from 720p to 1080p would make the games I can already barely run at 40+ fps even worse.

The fact is that consoles are being sold with $400+ price tags and advertised as fucking supercomputers, yet still can't hit very low, basic benchmarks.

If your console is gonna run at 720, that's fine. But don't charge me for a machine that costs as if it should be running at 1080.

It makes no sense.
>>
>>320084195
That shit's expensive anon, a good 1080p monitor costs ~$500 USD still.
>>
>>320084674
What games are you playing that drop that low on a 770? Also the pixel density of a 22" 720p monitor is fucking awful, the difference in fidelity between your current one and just about any 1080p display is huge.

>>320085596
You can get a 144Hz BenQ for under $350.

A decent 60Hz one shouldn't cost you more than $120, and one that's good enough should be under $100. Just about anything is better than a 22" 720p display.
>>
>>320078249
>Consoles still cant play 1080p60fps

But there's games that are already like that like Yakuza 0
>>
>>320086065
I just can't afford it right now. I had planned to get one on a ~$150 budget but my also 8 years old 500 GB harddrive finally bit the dust last month so I spent it on a 2TB HD and 500GB SSD instead.
>>
>>320086065
Do you have any recommendations monitoranon? I don't really know anything about monitors, and all the ones I saw reviews on Tom's Shillware were $300+
>>
>>320079462
Not just you. I don't see the difference between them. Same for 60 fps stuff.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0098Y77U0/?tag=dislag-20

Probably the best for the price.
>>
>>320087481
Price looks great, but isn't it a little small? I thought the whole point of 1080p was to get bigger than 22" without losing quality.
>>
>>320087650
Higher pixel density means better visual fidelity and makes effects like AA less important. You also get more screen space.

>i7 4550k and GTX 770 4gb
>monitor from 2007

It's amazing how people are so retarded they let shit like this happen
>>
>>320078249

Only the cheapest as fuck cards have gotten close recently and you still need a stand-alone card.

950 and 370 are the closest and even they can't really maintain that standard without a damn good CPU behind them. Those cards are more than half of most console bundles you find.

>what is being poor
>hint: it's me

>>320088015
Okay, I'll look into it. I've always heard 1080p was a waste unless the monitor was 27" or larger.
>>

Was the person who told you that from 2008?

2015, about 5 minutes ago actually. It's a friend of mine who's a fa/g/ and works in tech support.

Maybe he's bad at his job, I dunno, but he knows a hell of a lot more than I do about computers.
>>
>>320081664
How can the game be detailed if everything is fucking pixelated because instead of 1080p the dev chose to make it some weird shit like 900p
>>
>>320083438
From what I know there's only 2 images and that's probably a shoop
