Most of those surveys that say there's over 50% female is very dishonest about the real demographic of gamers. It's run by sjw with a agenda to push. Thus it reports there are more girl gamers in the world than male. It's skewered selective sampling where they purposely pick females mostly instead of males. On another note, Nintendo did their own numbers and found 93% male. And it isn't selective sampling, it's their entire estore demograph.
Then there also lies the issue where a shitload of sjw which happen to be non-gamers are trying to dictate what should be allowed and what shouldn't. They are trying to get video games banned and taken away in the west just because it offends them. These people aren't even the target market of most of the games they want to ban and they would never even buy these games in the first place regardless if it's censored or not. They are creating a atmosphere where developers censor their own products out of fear from these sjw and their backlash.

No, the point is that my dad who plays Freecell once in a while on his smartphone isn't a gamer. He doesn't really like video games that much, and would never consider gaming a hobby for him. But because of the stupidly broad definition some people are using, he would be considered a gamer even though it's not a label that would make sense for him.
