Honestly I don't get the hate for it. I have over 300 hours in KF1 and over 100 hours in 2. It's much more balanced than 1, has more zeds, more interesting weapons, etc. A lot more polished than 1 and looks/plays way better too. Even with all that, yes it still has problems. Certain classes/weapons are still unbalanced and there's the occasional glitch. The microtransactions are just skins. If you want to pay a few bucks for a skin go ahead, it was the exact same way in KF1. The biggest problem is just that it takes so long for content to come out. Instead of just throwing out content right when they finish it, they group together multiple things and then release the whole "pack" after 2 or 3 months.

I know OP has already made his decision, but I think anyone else on the fence about buying KF2 should wait until it gets out of Early Access.
It's not even a "voting with your wallet" sort of thing, but waiting for Tripwire to add all the stuff they promised has only made people bitter. It's a much better idea to wait until all the main game content is added.
