Why do people play without Glass? Every enemy seems so tediously bullet-spongey, even with a bunch of items.

I'm one of those folks that prefers to play without Glass. I'm not the speedrunning type, and they only feel like bullet sponges before you start getting offensive items. I also dislike the scale of Glass.

It's especially irritating if you like playing a melee character like Akrid (who doesn't have a dodge or shield ability).

Only if I'm doing a single player run, offline, and at that hidden boar beach. But then I'd have to rush there quickly so I can actually deploy them, because once you hit higher levels, it becomes less likely and viable to actually have one deploy.
I personally wouldn't waste my time using it elsewhere. Except MAYBE the last 2 stages. And only IF I didn't have a key to open all the chests.
What lines do I need to add to my save file to unlock artifacts? Don't feel like trying to get Kin and Distortion and Origin legit any more. I got everything else already.

I actually like playing Acrid/Merc with glass, it makes his pool/disease crazy and once you get a few defensive items his stacking melee poison is ridiculous.

Acrid is my favorite because I love poison mechanics, but I get one-shot every time I try playing on Glass. It's not much fun for me. Of course, we also had Honor on...
