What game lets me explore the decaying ruins of a mega structure?
>>320008989
Is this fallout?
>>320010258
looks like restoration project mod for fallout 2. Adds a pointless mission where you board that sub
>>320008989
Wtf
I don't remember this level in F2.
>tfw no MMO where you can explore player built structures that are slowly decaying and take months to actually dissolve
It's fun in Wurm, and I'm hoping Star Citizen strikes that same itch of exploring destroyed player ships in first person.
>>320010370
fallout 2 has a frankly ludicrous amount of cut content, most of which was entirely finished and then just removed
mods have added it all back in
I wish we had more games like NaissanceE.
>>320010496
Go and try Haven & Hearth, casual.
>>320008989
legend of grimrock 1 is one huge multilevel prison dungeon with tons of secret and stuff
grimrock 2 has open areas with several dungeons, some of them also pretty large
also maybe things like wizardry or might and magic
how come there are no mods for fallout 3 or nv to make it isometric and control a bit closer to 1 and 2 or even tactics
>>320008989
Just did that last night with ur mom desu senpai
>>320010576
Not him but I've recently just begun FO2. What mods do this? I've heard of the Restoration mod but apparently it doesn't add everything back.
>>320008989
Project Eden has a big city that progressively decays as you procceed further into its depths.
Also, Binary Domain, Hard Reset and Vanquish have huge megacities in them.
Maybe Alien Isolation if you're really a technophliac. It features a lot of wandering inside a big and semi-abandoned space station.
>>320010684
Someone here posted a mod screenshot that makes the game render at the same camera angle as FO1/2 but the problem is gamebryo can't render too much shit onscreen at one time so the framerate suffers if you zoom out too much.
>>320010825
*vertical city that progressively decays
>>320010825
>killy gets on elevator
>several hundred years pass
>he gets off the elevator
BLAME was the perfect decaying megastructure story
>has to walk across a room that could hold the entire planet Jupiter
>even more centuries pass
>>320010736
Is it your first playthrough? If so, I really wouldn't recommend restoration mod. It has more stuff sure but it makes the game a bit too hard and tedious
>>320008989
Legend of grimrock
>>320010496
Check out Xsyon
>>320011082
FO1 and 2 are piss easy anyway, the only hard part is getting used to grid/turn-based combat
you become so used to clearing out a raider den in like 2 minutes in later fallouts, the same task takes like 10 minutes in early games thanks to turn based
>>320011082
Wouldn't I be able to configure some difficulty aspects?
>>320011003
ikr
I keep looking for games and general media that scratch my itch of exploring a huge cyberpunk mega-city/structure,
>tfw no comfy urban exploration game
>>320011614
god i would love a randomly generated Blame adaptation, just establish that time has no meaning inside the Megastructure and let people run around, collect shit, maybe recruit an occasional companion (until something scary kills them later)
just being able to fire Killy's gun and carve an endless hole in any direction would be SICK
>>320011003
Time dilation is so nice to see when done properly.
>>320011845
Stalker is pretty close
>>320011845
Night time Dying Light is fun too
>>320011082
>>320011263
>>320011490
The restoration mod significantly increases the number of critical hits that enemies get and it fixes armor piercing ammo which is pretty much the only ammo that enemies use. In the vanilla game you could solo the entire thing, but with the mod you have to use companions as damage sponges.
Noobs complain about ants in the temple on their first playthrough, restoration is definitely not for them.
>>320011932
>Procceedurally generated megastructure
>everything is quiet and consists of hacking and collecting stuff most of the time
>fight through nests of silicon life and safeguards when you manage to get their attention
There'd be no reason to not make a game like this.
>>320012209
The revelation space series is pretty good wtih this.
>>320012238
>Stalker
>comfy
Nigger , that shit is so tense with all the bleeding, radiation , bloodsuckers, low ammo , anomalies , controllers , god damn it. Send help.
>>320012496
>armor piercing ammo which is pretty much the only ammo that enemies use
whose fucking idea was that?
>>320008989
Portal 2 does this very well.
>>320012553
Yeah it's actually my favorite hard sci-fi series although I haven't read much. A lot of the novellas in the RS universe were fucking fantastic too.
>>320008989
Dwarf Fortress, create your own, then explore it in adventure mode.
>>320012607
Old Aperture was only a handful of chapters, if that.Shame as it was the best part of the game.
>>320012607
The lower levels of Aperture are excellent at this.
>>320012762
>glados was originally still a huge bitch even after picking her up as a potato
>playtesters complained so they watered her down to just call you fat occasionally
>>320012607
Portal 2 was linear as fuck.
>>320012949
valve playtesters are pure cancer.
>>320012571
Exactly, after all that tension going back to safe camp and hear this song is the best
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYpSg4n6lGo
IMPORTANT QUESTION
Does Project Eden have ragdoll physics wh nyou kill shit? i must know please
>>320013142
>we decided to try making a non-linear path deviation that led back to the beginning of the tunnel
>one playtester kept turning into the path and circling back to the start for like half a fucking hour
>that's why we don't do non-linear games anymore
>>320013042
That wasn't the question, friendo.
Restoration mod is fucking fanfiction garbage ignore the storylines in it but enjoy the content they added back in because the content is from the creators but the conversations are made up by NMA sperglords
>>320013350
well yeah, it was cut content for fucks sake, not all of it was finished. the modders and everyone who cared had already played the game to death
>>320013330
The question was about exploration. Portal 2 had no exploration apart from a few dead ends that weren't part of the main path.
>>320010496
This makes me think of that one online mmo where everything was player built
It was from 99 or something
I remember there was that one autist still playing it 24/7 to this day
>>320012607
>when you get out of old aperture and see miles of springs
>when the chambers are open and you can see all those other chambers
>>320008989
ill leave this here..

>>320013557
are you talking about Worlds.com?
>>320008989
Soma
>>320013579
one of my favorite parts of portal 2 is how it displays the consequences of a megastructure run by an AI with a compulsive need to continue doing research forever
hundreds of years pass and the facility only grows in size and inefficiency, in every direction
i mean christ look how many other "relaxation vaults" there were around chell's, and all of them were full of sleeping dead people
if EYE 2 ever gets made, I hope they go all out with insanely huge structures and shit.
>>320014054
The Fall was pretty good for that too
which makes sense since The Fall and Soma have nearly the same identical plot twist, just reversed
>>320014296
Not him but what happens in Soma? I've played The Fall; was surprisingly really neat overall.
>>320014542
https://a.pomf.cat/nyabtj.webm
>>320014054
That's pretty cool, but frictional has a history of making gems followed by cobbled together shit just so they can pay the bills and keep eating ramen.
>>320014542
In Soma, the MC is a normal dude who realizes halfway through that he is a robot with his original mind downloaded onto it
In The Fallthe MC was already a robot suit and just finds out that there is no one inside the suit and you were just a robot the whole time
>>320014542
>>320014296
so much room left for a sequel or a part 2 or whatever. i need it badly. the fall was done so well!
>>320014707
Soma was pretty good. The environment and monsters were cool as shit. But your character is a fucking moron.
>>320014663
oh god what
>>320014752
That's a nice twist.
>>320014762
They're turning it into a trilogy. I believe Part 2 was already Kickstartered or something; they have updates on their blog and they're working on Part 2, or were last time I checked. I think it might be released early next year.

Homeworld series sort of does. Your fleet can explore the super massive graveyard of ancient ships. The structures are so damn large it completely dwarfs the entire fleet.
>>320015204
>A walking simulator about climbing gray stairs surrounded by gray walls surrounded by gray structures in gray rooms stretching for gray kilometers situated on the gray floors of a gray onion-like Dyson sphere containing many gray floors and lots of gray stairs. Occasionally you see some black rectangles.
This is all I've ever wanted.
This looks pretty interesting, it's a little too clean for my liking though.

>>320015187
webm's a joke. Some guy with a review copy streamed it before the release and people were butthurt because it wasn't what they expected.I was also disappointed because I'm sick of the "what it means to be human?" fad. It was still entertaining.
>>320015448
You ever played NaissanceE? Because that's pretty much what you described.
>>320015409
Jesus, the beginning of Homeworld 2 always scared the shit out of me as a kid. My tiny mind couldn't even comprehend that dyson-like thing at the Shipyard.
>>320015739
Shattered Horizon except not a dead multiplayer game? Count me in.
>>320015809
It's been on my wishlist for a while but isn't it a puzzle game? I just want a walking simulator.
>>320015204
>Last update 5 jul.
Did he died?
>>320012238
>Stalker
>Comfy
Comfy has become such a fucking meme word
I was looking forward to this, but it looks like it took a turn in a completely different direction mid development or something.

I think it's just something he works on when there's free time. There's already been long periods with no updates before this.
>>320010825
Anyone know where I can get scans of Blame that aren't shit quality?
The ones on bakabt have compression artifacts out the ass.
