Gentlemen,
I have a serious problem. My toaster laptop has officially died and I need to basically buy, have delivered and build a new PC from scratch. I don't have any peripherals except for a mouse since I used that laptop as my PC.
Please help; I have a budget of £600 - £750 which essentially needs to include screen, OS and anything else. Can you recommend something which I can build and ideally get parts delivered (UKfag) for next week that will play all games currently out at a reasonable framerate?

Define "reasonable",and your preferred resolution.
With (less than) 500, you could do an Intel i5 + 8GB DDR3 + GTX 750ti 2Gb + (pirated) W7 ULTIMATE, and it'd run most games at 1080p / 60fps, modern ones at med-high settings.

Check the pcspecialist.co.uk
You can use the logical increments site as a guide.
intel CPU + Nvidia GPU recommended. Avoid W8 & 10.

1080p is fine. I can't pirate software, this is sort of also going to be a work pc.
Just to get a case seems to be £70, a new monitor is like £150...Not sure how I can get what you're suggesting for less than 500 quid.

How does it matter they can't catch you if you're so interested in original install dual boot with a Linux distro.

>I can't pirate software,
if your broken laptop had win7, you can use its serial on dazloader and it's going to be as if you're just reusing the serial you already own

When I run the expenses for the machine, it's something that will get flagged 'Why no OS anon?'. I get the money back, so I DGAF, but it does mean that the OS cost needs to be included.

Here ya go, I did you a 600£ build.
the screen includes speakers.

buy a amd computer with fx 6300 and overclock it to 4.1Ghz. get a decent Graphics card, DDR3 memory, 550w(or more) Power supply, a cheap dvd drive and hard drive. Download windows 10 onto a disc and save 100£ there, even though i do not reccomend piracy.

If you have a decent HDTV you could just use that as a monitor.

thats great man, thanks. Forgot about thermal paste/cpu heat sink, thought they were included with the CPU; Also forgot about getting a wireless ethernet card!
Thanks again

No problem.
Yes, the CPU's coolers do come with basic paste layer. You can choose for the site to assemble the PC for you, for a small fee.
I noticed that I forgot the KB, but that's literally 8£.

Just buy a MacBook Pro.
