Beta keys have started rolling out for Black Desert Online, have you gotten yours yet /v/?
It seems like for the NA version of the game, they're actually taking into consideration some of the suggestions from the testers that aren't only number changes. Based on feedback from testers they've implemented the night time from the KCBT, we might get more changes to better reflect the KCBT version of the game if more feedback is put in. They've also made potion cooldowns a lot longer, which is perfect since you could just spam potions to get out of trouble and PVP doesn't become a healfest that's present in the other server. So what are your thoughts on all this?

Euro is allowed (except for turkey and russia) in the NA servers. Though latency don't work too great for this type of game, I played the RU servers and I hated the lag.

My experiences with the jap version was really disappointing. I definitely didn't get the most authentic exposure what with the 200+ ping and terrible machine translation, but I still don't think the gameplay is anywhere near as good as it should be. I won't comment on the sandbox aspects because I didn't pay enough attention to what was supposed to exist/got removed/is being added to the NA version, but compat and questing wise it wasn't that promising.
The combat was actually pretty close to good. The characters had the ability to do some cool stuff,like in those webms. The problem is that the ai is a huge letdown, so none of that stuff is necessary, or in my experience even optimal. They just stand in AoEs so the best strategy is to herd them around spamming a single skill or simple rotation that kills regular mobs before they can do anything or doing that but with an evade in the middle for enemies with more health. The summonable boss enemies I fought were a little more interesting, but not much. Standard action mmo dps it while staying out of the area its about to hit.
Styling on the ai just for the sake of it gets old pretty fast.
Particularly because the quests are dull as shit. Autorun to this circle on the map, kill x of y, autorun back was the vast majority of my playtime.
It's worth a try if you think it looks cool, I'll be trying the na version whenever it releases, but I advise against hype. It probably won't live up.
