The Wii U got 3/4 notable games in 2015
The 3DS got 5/6 notable games (including the remakes MM3D and XC3D)
For people interested in all those games, 2015 was an okay year to have Nintendo consoles. But the vast majority of people are not interested in ALL of those titles, and Nintendo's consoles just didn't have sufficient range/variety in 2015 for the general consumer.

They should've gone full mobile and created a dedicated android/nintendo hydrib smartboy, they could've easily dipped into the smartphone market due to its short lifecycle and collosal customer base, thats where their highests chance of redeeming themselves would've been but they chose to pull a wild card and the chances of them pulling it off are slim to fucking none. Their only hope in hell of releasing another successfull handheld is when the n3ds reaches an acceptable life cycle which is years away so it is most likely going to be a console and it will flop, mark my words.

Monolith needs more funding and exposure. They used to be a multi million seller in japan and now they're ~80k launch week. When they made the Wii, they weren't thinking about all the casual moms and children, they thought it was a cool way to play.
But around the time Skyward Sword came out, they realized what made the Wii sell so much, so they tried catering to that audience.
Only that audience is dead. Or at least, not on their platform anymore. They're on mobile, since they only care for 5-10 minute games that don't require much.
The Wii U was a gigantic mistake. What were they thinking when they came up with that. And the games don't help. A bunch of rehashed trash and tech demos.
