Am i the only one who gets pissed about how games are being overrun by generic anime trash? I am talking about fire emblem, pokemon, final fantasy, etc. Where are the real video game characters at? Where did the cool protags go? I get mad everytime my weeb friends talk about these shitty anime games and I see the games industry continue to pander to the anime crowd rather than non anime shit. I don't even hate jap games entirely I just want more metroid or mad world or duke noukem even and less GOD DAMNED BLUE HAIRED SWORDSMEN.

I dunno I never really liked anime at all as a kid. Not to just meme, but I always felt like it was cringey. I wouldn't even watch anime-ish western shows like Samurai Jack and Avatar. I have actually really opened up to more eastern shit as time has gone on and I realize I was too close minded in the past. But I still can't bring myself to see the draw of what seems like generic cash grab anime games like persona or final fantasy. I still like the same games I did and I have always played both eastern and western games. I just always preferred more superstar saga than tales of symponia.
Can someone explain to me why people like these games? Pokemon is pretty much eastern call of duty where it is the same shit shovelled out time after time year after year.
I just cant get into the mindset here and I am tired of not being able to enjoy things the people I enjoy hanging out with enjoy.

Mickey having the starring role he deserves, Goofy and Donald having some actual character to them that hasn't been seen since A Goofy Movie, getting to go through some of my favorite western movies as a kid like Aladdin, Lion King, etc.

I agree with you that pokemon has oustayed its welcome but the first few were genuinely good games.
I like JRPGS but I'm not super into the cookie cutter ones like Tales and Atelier and all of that either. I liked the more 80s and early 90s styled anime stuff where you had less of the little girls doing cute things borderline pedophilia thing.
People like that shit because it's clean and predictable and pleasant and has waifus. How formulaic they are is actually a virtue to some people, it's like a TV tropesers dream.
