No, and I don't think I'll ever be. I work 12 hours a day and spend an extra 2-3 hours per day commuting to and from work.
I just don't have the time to (1) practice my links and combos at home and (2) travel to local meetups and practice with real players.
I love fighting games though. I always watch all the tournaments (especially Tekken Tag 2 and Xrd) and I am fairly decent at doing mid-level combos against computer AIs.
But I can never be on the level of JDCR, Ogawa or Daigo.
But if someone gave me enough money to live the rest of my life in leisure, then I definitely can have the time to practice and be as good as them.

nah, growing up I never had friends interested in fighting games so I never played them.
I picked up GG Xrd last year and it's pretty fun though. same with Melty Blood. I wish I could git gud at them but I've got nobody to actually play with locally so I can't get much practice in.

Playing on japanese arcades was the best experience i ever had. gameplay is smooth as fuck and i learned a lot, too bad mostly people play only SF and tekken.

I'm getting better, a year ago I didn't even know how to DP. Been emulating SF3 daily for the like last month and been beating the arcade mode with Ken.
Unfortunately against the computer I like freak out and get intimidated by the fact the computer has total reckless abandon. Its tough to be patient when the computer can tech 90% of all grabs, blocks way better than me and is more aggressive.

I've gotten better and I'm pretty proud of it. I tend to really well with local street fighter, but I feel weaker in smash (even though I love it more). I honestly don't get it; I can go toe to toe with my tourney friends is SF and then I feel overwhelmed by smash's mobility and lose to the same people.

I got the "Win 10 Ranked Matches in a Row" trophies for both SF4 and USF4.

I'm okay at Tekken but I'm shit at 2D fighters. I'm planning to actually grind out SFV and get not complete shit at it.
I've been playing the SFV beta and my fundamentals are getting a bit better but my winrate is really poor because I don't want to just scrub it out even though I know I'd win more now like that. I'd probably have at least a 50% winrate if I just did online tactics and did the typical online ryu thing but I'm trying to actually be a decent player.

Depends on the game.
Generally speaking, work on your fundamentals and work on your punishing game.
Scrubs usually try to overwhelm you with random shit. Most of the time its unsafe though, so work on your anti airs, learn what moves are unsafe and get your big damage punishes ready.
You can often also just blow people up by spacing yourself properly.
I'm playing Xrd right now and retards just fly into Kys sword because they are stupid.
