The NX is not releasing after 2017. I could see (and personally hope for) a scenario where Nintendo keeps the Wii U for one more year with things like Star Fox, Zelda, amiibo, more Mario spin-offs (there's certainly a ton, but there are some that really should be on the console), HD remasters and rereleases, DLC for games like Smash, Splatoon, and Super Mario Maker, another big game or two (a main Kirby platformer would be good), and a new version of the system to avoid launching a brand new home console so soon, but there is no way that they could keep up until 2018.
