Except the DSi was arguably the inferior version game-wise, even though there were some great apps for it. The heavy hitter was that there was no GBA backwards-compatibility. On the other hand, there were enough DS games by that point that it was a non-issue.
The GBA SP on the other hand was the superior version, hands-down. Almost all the features of the original GBA, including flawless GB/GBC backwards compatibility. Only major problem was lack of a headphone jack, so a custom headset had to be made which used the charging port, which is a glaring issue for obvious reasons. But then again, who ACTUALLY used that?

I never owned an SP but i used my cousin's on occasions when I didnt have my own GBA with me or forgot it at home, its so uncomfortable to be.
The gameboy pocket and colour felt more comfortable to me. I still have my GBA hidden away.
I have to admit, though not a portable system, the Wii U gamepad is by the best thing Nintendo has ever made. It feels so fucking comfy

My friend found one in his grocery store. A month later and no one picked it up so he gave it to me.
The pictures made it look like it might have belonged to a young kid. Shame he never came back for it, but at least I have a machine to play all those roms on.

I'll be honest, I do kinda miss it.
It was SUPER bulky and, let's face it, just flat out ugly, but it had a certain charm to it. Maybe it's just nostalgia.

I've got an xl with a damaged top screen, makes it a bitch to play rpgs where you need to read text, because its basically just a half inch or so thick black line near the bottom. Still great though. Dsi has amazing controls and features, Nintendo really tried hard with it.

I liked the DSi, but mostly just because Flipnote was such a fun app. Well, that, and I also found it to be a better, more comfortable and sturdier DSTWO machine than my DS Lite. The matte finish alone made all the difference. Only problem is that the shoulder buttons on it break so god damn easily. Luckily it wasn't too hard to fix, but still an inconvenience. Would have been a 9/10 handheld if only it had a GBA-slot.

I disagree, simply because the DSi was kind of a step down (no GBA slot, and nothing to replace it with), and its added features didn't really do anything to make it worth it. It was a DS with a camera. Woopdie.
The New 3DS on the other hand, doesn't subtract features from the original 3DS, but it ADDS a faster processor and a second(ish) analog stick, two things the original 3DS desparately needed.
I got one when my original 3DS finally kicked the bucket, and I can't go back. Monster Hunter is basically unplayable on the OG 3DS by comparison.
