Now, aside from having must have day-one exclusives, can we agree that Splatoon needs to be playable on the NX in some form or fashion to guarantee sales form the get go.
I'm thinking like a "Splatoon: Definitive Edition" or something.

Not in the eyes of the ordinary consumer, it isn't. Nintendo shouldn't make NX look like it's at all related to Wii U, and that includes having the same games or even backwards compatibility.
There's nothing wrong with Splatoon 2. But Splatoon? No.

Sure, but that was only because they made the huge mistake of naming it like that. They only need to distance themselves from the original Wii, while they keep pumping out great games, new IPs and letting other studios make cool spinoff games with their IPs like how they have been doing with the U this past year.

I don't need a remaster, just this >>319921586. I'd quite like to play the game with a normal controller -- half the reason I stopped playing after just a couple weeks was due to discomfort. Why couldn't I use the Pro Controller? The leap mechanic isn't enough of a reason, you could easily fudge that with the Pro to at least give me the option.

It'll launch with the next mainline Pokemon game. They need to bring out the big guns. Also, an actual Metroid game, to cater to the butthurt fanboys.
If the NX launches in 2016 then I could see a sequel coming in 2017. If the NX launches in 2017 then I could see a sequel in 2018. I don't think that we will get a remaster, but if we do then I think it would be more likely with the first scenario (Definite Edition by the end of the 2016 fiscal year and Splatwoon during Holiday 2017).

The Pro doesn't have a gyro sensor. And you want a gyro sensor. In fact, the NX controller better have one. It's the only actual good thing to ever come out of the motion control bullshit craze.
I think as an IP, Splatoon has high potential to splinter off into different genres. Like a platformer or puzzle game.

I think that it at least needs a major sequel before this happens. It would both help the franchise grow and (assuming the sequel is on NX) carry it over to the next generation.
On another point, what if Nintendo still ends up having both a portable and home console?

I'd imagine that the nx will have some form of splatoon on it, be it a remaster with some upgrades, or a sequel. I'd be surprised if the nx didn't have some form of definitive smash 4, as the nx likely will be officially announced soon, and the final smash direct is coming up. The nx will probably also launch with some Mario stuff that no one really cares about. Other than those, I can't really think of anything. Except maybe a situation similar to twilight princess occurring with zelda u one the wii u and nx.

I work a very high paying job and even I think it's disrespectful to the average nintendo consumer that they're talking about releasing a whole new console when they still haven't done ANYTHING with the current one.

Playable Octolings. Takes place in the city of Octopia with a news show hosted by Punk Octoling idols. Male Octolings. Octolings tend to have a more alternative fashion sense. 6v6 with larger maps. Improved skill selection on gear, new gun types. Squidskids still playable.

Keep in mind, however, that these three franchises have had YEARS to built up communities for themselves. While it can get bigger, Splatoon has grown really fast.

Not him but gyro is a direct upgrade to dual analog. Gyro isnt perfect for sure but you are able to aim faster than those who go without it. Its pretty much mandatory to use if you are trying to get into S+ without a roller of some sort.

I just can't understand how you came to this conclusion. The real problem with the WII U isn't because regular consumers don't want a new Nintendo console, but because most didn't understand that it was already a new console. The naming was moronic from the start, and that's what killed it even before hardcore games boycotting it.
Considering how the wii was popular, if thay had had a proper advertisment, the fidelity would itself would have sold consoles by dozens. Wii Fit and and all these shitty "games" like kawashima were quite popular with casuals.

That recent patent diagram from Nintendo basically guarantees it'll be the WiiU all over again. Stupid gimmick that isn't used 80% of the time but takes up more than half the R&D budget and accounts for the majority of the consoles cost. It is some dipshit controller design that makes the ENTIRE face of the controller a video touch screen. If Nintendo actually makes that the controller for the NX it's basically guaranteed that the system itself will be underwhelming in terms of power because of the money they'd have to spend on the controller.

For any other system you'd be right. But people don't want the WiiU. Nintendo fans on here are constantly saying "Well game X will sell TONS of WiiUs!" only for the game to come out and barely blip WiiU hardware numbers. Yeah. 2 million people bought Splatoon. Most of them already owned a WiiU.

That being said, you're right, but Splatoon would still be important for Nintendo to get onto the NX right away since it's managed to maintain a regular userbase in spite of the Wii U.
