People buy CoD for multi, people bought GoW for couch coop, Halo for multi, Far Cry for gameplay(you won't pretend people liked "story" in any of those games, except blood dragon maybe), Diablo 3 for endless grinding(same for WoW), bordermemes for gameplay and so on and so on we can go on forever for it. The only exception is Ass Cred and even there I wonder how much of virtual tourism is involved there.
Meanwhile, people bough Final Fantasy for story/cutscenes, Baldur's Gate for romances, Monkey Island for story and Tomb Raider for 3d tits.
