Except that's true to life. The VC were underfunded and undertrained even with supplies from China and Russia.
The only thing they had over Americans were knowledge of the terrain and bullshit guerrilla warfare tactics that's not unlike what ISIL is doing these days. I still remember my parents talking about how the VC went Nazi-style evil when they launched the Tet offensive, which was on an important holiday for the Vietnamese.
Honestly, if the murrifats just stayed and saw the war through the end, they would've won pretty easily since their carpet bombings were fucking up a lot of the VC. Hell, the Vietnamese PM even asked them that if they were going to pull out, continue to supply us with weapons and supplies. But nope, murrica pussied out and the commies won.
