For MOBAs go with Heroes of the Storm to get a grasp of the genre. Just don't make the mistake of spending any money on it. It's always more fun with friends but if you have to play solo don't go Quick Match and instead Hero League. Should you like what you see and crave more you can always graduate to DotA2, provided punishing and obscure mechanics with longer matches don't scare you.
Recommending RTS is harder as there weren't any decent ones to come out in a long while. You can give StarCraft 2 a go as it has singleplayer content and lots of non-serious spinoffs in the form of custom maps. Else you have to go further back in time and look at the likes of C&C Red Alert 2, Age of Empires 2 or Stronghold (the first, the others were all trash).

It's the only moba I've played (and I play it on xbone) but it is ridiculously fun. Been playing since late july and there's new content every month. The game has some balancing issues (some characters are too good) but nothing game breaking
