no you don't and I'll tell you why; you kept hearing for ages how demons souls was awesome and then how dark souls was awesome and then this game comes and you thought yeah at last i will enjoy this one but you see it was specifically designed for the people who fell for the hype. it's literally a meme, it superficially copied all those things the first games were famous for -and failed- and tried to force everyone play pvp and co-op because the higher ups told the devs investing in multiplayer is a good business decision. If you can't play the other games of the series play witcher instead.

You're right, the FPS isn't the only thing. But it does do a lot for games. I did enjoy being able to actually connect to friends instead of getting "Summoning failed.Summoning failed.Summoning failed." for 30 minutes to an hours.
