The "standalone" is kinda new but it's one of the oldest "early access alphas" around. The mod from the Arma game is around 5 years old according to the first thing ive read on google.
Man. I had an idea for an open world survival game about being homeless in a city (based off my own experience being homeless) but seeing how over saturated the market is with these kinda of games I don't know if it'd work.

Sounds interesting. I'm from a shitty south amercian country (huehuehue) and we have a huge problem of misery on most big cities so a friend of mine is trying to pich to investors a game about homeless children. If it ever get made, it will be more of a social experiment than a "game" but it will be praised as hell by critics and the general media.
I'm saying "if it ever get made" because they have this megalomaniacal idea of using VR and other cutting-edge tech stuff into the "game".

So people paid for a game that the devs abandoned for being shit, which these devs will most likely outgrow in development too. At least they have cars that look like they were taken straight out of C&C Renegade.
When twitch streamers stop using them as a way to play a single easy game for a long period of time in order to suck up more subscriptions and donations.
