Fucking amazing. I always loved it. And the soundtrack is dope. I loved how it changed dynamically from what weapon I wielded. Jak got a voice. I liked that very much. Nice driving mechanics. Nice gunplay. Amazing game overall.
Everything it did was done better in Jak 3.

It got a lot of shit in its time, but I actually liked the game. I beat it 100% while most people had trouble just beating it. It turned out to be a casual filter since J&D was very easy, and suddenly edgy difficult and parts GTA. Just like >>319902878 it came in just at the right time in my teens.

I don't understand why people think Jak 2 is a hard game. Sure it lacks checkpoints in certain missions but the game isn't hard enough to make you die often in the first place.

The best Jak game. Lost a bit of its focus in platforming but the story was alright and the characters were good for the most part.
Better gameplay and atmosphere than J&D, better story than Jak 3. So I guess it's kind of the best in the series.
I do wish the gunplay was better though. If they made it R&C tier, the games would have been amazing.

Jak II is for me still pretty much the best game ever created. All the environments are comfy as fuck, the visuals still hold up, and it didn't hold your hand and was legitimately hard throughout various points in the game.

Jak Is a 3rd person with actually decent platforming,a very good combo,The 3rd had more guns but Honestly they were not that renovative(except for the red shotgun parts those I admit were the shit)
Anyhow Jak 2 wasn't as adventury as 3,but I liked Haven way more on the second one.
I am biased but I can't deny 3rd was better,but It is in no way a straight upgrade.

They tried to hard to make a dark Grand Theft Auto clone with a game that otherwise had bright and fantasy-style visuals.
As a kid I remember thinking wtf is going on, I couldn't believe they made a gta clone. Once I got used to it though I liked it a lot, I was the perfect age to like edgy jak though it was too hard
A decent amount of edge, perhaps too much. Some interesting and engaging characters, but an unwelcome departure from what made the first one good. A true sequel to the precursor legacy would be a good way to reboot the series.
