Now that I'm older and have some income I pay for most of my stuff because it's safe, legal, easy and most importantly I can afford to do so. The only thing I still download is Japanese shit not available through US distributors that require insane import prices. BRADIO and UVERworld isn't available through Amazon or Google Play for example.

Services like Pandora, Spotify, and Netflix are definitely what the internet needed and a really effective means of combating piracy. Offer a better service or experience than one gets from pirating at a cheap enough cost? Hell yes it'll be effective. It still needs expansion though, and labels and copyright owners need to start adapting more to the new era of media consumption. Old methodologies of copyrights and sales are deprecated. People will now pirate or pay if they get better service and experience than piracy.

Can't afford uni anywhere else because I got local scholarships. Design major at UAFS, there isn't another decent program in the state and none of my scholarships transfer out of state. Tuition is free for me, I even get a few hundred back every semester.
I am actually at an advantage in that I grew up extremely poor and live frugally, so I can move to a bigger area and do design work freelancing, live outside the more expensive areas, and just dump all my spare money into savings to move into a nice area by my 40s. I can do web design, print media, photography, video editing, motion graphics, cinematography, virtually the entire package. I'll have plenty of money and job opportunities.
