I got a G27 for $120 but that was a deal I managed to find after like 3 months of waiting for something to pop up with my eye all over the place.
G27 is old tech, but it's old reliable. It doesn't have the best force feedback or the best pedals and it's shifter is awkwardly only for 6 gears, but it's very solidly built, strong materials, and compatible with everything for a sufficiently good wheel all around. If you want to look into more modern wheels, look into thrustmaster wheels and always look into how good people say the force feedback is.

I guess there's something about "car games" being plain boring realistic racing games these days, with no innovation aside from graphics, and often far less features than games of old.
A racing game could surely get GOTY, if it tries to be something more than that. Burnout and NFSU certainly got more than a couple GOTYs.
