Psychotic parents make it impossible to do anything with your life. They'll use like six coffee mugs before you even wake up and then bitch about the dishes not being done. You can clean all day long and then they come home and still find something to bitch about. They don't want your friends over, ever, and if you have them over they'll make sure you and your friends are miserable. They'll blame you for drinking alcohol in the cupboard that their own drunk ass probably drank and then destroy the shit you bought and ban you from having alcohol in the house. They'll eat any food you buy and go berserk if you eat the stale fucking crackers that nobody else is going to eat or care about until they're gone. I play a game for five minutes and get torn apart for not doing anything with my life while they just binge on the Netflix I'm paying for for hours every day.
Let me tell you, cockroaches and bedbugs, especially bedbugs, are not fun. Rain dripping through the ceiling was not fun. Going hungry all the time was not fun. That apartment was only slightly better than living with MY folks, and that's saying something. But damn, until the misery really sunk in of how much of a shithole it was, I felt like the happiest guy in the world not having to feel my hair falling out whenever I heard a car driving up to the house.
