They arrive at Sector 7 Middle School atop Fenrir, Cloud's motorcycle, of course. The schoolchildren scream and crowd around the shining, roaring vehicle. Cloud helps his daughter off the bike and then sends her on her way.
"Your mom will pick you up after school!" he shouts, almost forgetting. She turns, waves, nods, and then disappears behind the clamor of classmates. --Aeris' motorcycle entrance will be the talk of the school for days.
Cloud returns home. His heart skips a beat when he closes the front door behind him and hears the silence--when he realizes that Aeris will be gone until next weekend. It's going to be lonely until then. It always is.
He stares at the untouched waffles from afar.
He goes to his room and opens the closet. He pulls out his favorite sundress and slips the silky garment over his body. He turns in the mirror, takes a moment to despise his broad shoulders, and then sinks into a chair.
He cries silently, knowing that he threw his life with Tifa away because he wanted to be an ugly woman.
