It wasn't. The games were short as fuck. Ended up using it for porn until I dropped hand held gaming all together.

One of the major problems with the PSP was the abundance of console ports where the devs just attempted to squeeze the entire console game onto the system, resulting in long load times and really shitty control schemes.

Still got one, im playing almost all psx games and some hidden gems in rpg area, a shame the vita its a piece of crap whit only a few good games.

You're simply praising the system based off its current status, where any PSP iteration can install homebrew with a simple installer and can use a microSD to Duo adapter to actually get enough storage to fit much more vidya on it.
But yes the system is actually pretty good as it is now, took it long enough though
PSP was my favorite handheld of all time until the Vita. Vita was (and still is) so bad that it actually made me hate even the PSP. Not sure how or why, but it happened.
I used to love my PSP, but only because there was CFW for it and I could download any 300MB game and have a lot of fun. I was hoping Vita would be the same, but so far it's shit.
I'm very happy with my hacked 3DS now, and I recommend it to anyone who liked that aspect of the PSP.

I got my psp, played locoroco literally 2 times on it then some korean guy stole it and I only returned to handheld gaming a few months ago and got a vita.
considering you can run psp isos on the vita up to every firmware now its a decent vita+psp machine even if you are ignorant to the games and upcoming releases vita has,
