After playing games like The Witcher 3 and then playing a game like Xenoblade Chronicles X, its very obvious why JRPGs are a dying genre. The dialogue is often horrible and stupid like most anime. Also the production values are significantly less relatively speaking.

Jrpg's aren't always anime, but the more weeaboo they pack into an RPG the less of an RPG it becomes. The problem, I think, is that Visual Novels are a huge influence on characterization in jrpgs. Maybe its just me but I find it boring, would rather read a wall of text than have it spoon fed to me.
Also I think the anime aesthetic began dying out after 2010.

Xenoblade chronicles x is honestly a pretty good game. I only have a few issues with it in the 80 hours I've put in.
1.lack of direction for item drops, saying it's in x area and not saying BTW ONLY LOOTABLE DURING 1200 AND 1300 makes is a poor design choice.
Give the general area in the very least i can't remember the rare drops for all continents.
Combat is a bit annoying post 40 as enemies take a huge spike in difficultly. Even with maxed out gear and items most enemies provide a challenge for you at 40.
Music is pretty good except for the shitty night time city music.
Combat is pretty face paced and everything is learned without a tutorial which ids a. Ice change.
Overall 8/10 for me
