Sega kid here, I never thought this. Sega channel was pretty hype though, way ahead of its time.
I had both. SNES was better but thats not to say Genesis wasn't awesome in its own way.
To this day I usually revisit more Genesis games than I do SNES when I'm in an emulation mood.
Super nintendo was not only the best console of its generation, its also still better than most modern consoles.

I have always liked the SNES more, but I liked Sega a lot.

Can we talk about just how good both systems were? Genesis or SNES it didn't matter what you bought you had access to a unique library for all genres. They both had tons of 10/10 games.

I mean, there are definitely different tones and sounds due to the way they are synthesized in between the consoles. Sega Genesis uses some obvious sounding FM synthesis, and I just happen to like the sound of it.

I think the point to take away is how good 4th gen was compared to 8th gen.
Now you can either choose between two very similar multiplat machines that have almost identical libraries, or an exclusives machine that you couldn't possibly use as your sole system unless you want to give up all multiplats
The closer consoles get to PCs, the more irrelevant they get, the more I resent Nintendo not going 3rd party so I can just play everything on one device. That's what it's coming to, I just wish it would get there already
