Losing faith in modern gaming. Only a few games can actually hold my interest.
Recommend good SNES games.
Already got the most common suggestions, Final Fantasy, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Chrono etc

If you want a really "obscure" RPG, try Robotrek (no, it doesn't have anything to do with Robotech/Macross)

These are the only games I've played for the SNES that I can say I truly enjoyed, and I've tried quite a few. The system gets a lot of undue hype/nostalgia imho.
Protip: Just like 90% of modern games are shit, 90% of the SNES library is shit, just like 90% of everything from any category of media is shit.

Every generation is full of shovelware, you always need to dig up a little if you want to found gems. But I can relate what you say, since the gameplay mechanics evolved a lot, so many SNES games can be a little clunky
Still, I found myself enjoying some games (Super Metroid for example) more than the current generationI always forgot to add Turtles in Time everytime I make lists
