I doubt it that the game will get any better, they just put all ideas from diablo3 especially stuff that people hated the most (bounties and keystone farming) and they will contiune to hope that they can carry on with overhyped cinematics, warcraft movie and somehow good quality raids if you are into it. PvP is ofc out of question since its infested with hackers and interrupt scripts. In the end we will end up with no stuff to do in month or two. From my friend pool people that still play the game are nostalgia hardcore raiders or people that still have thier old friends playing thier game but once they quit they quit aswell.

You're never going to go back again. Current players wouldn't be able to handle a Vanilla or BC instance. There's no challenge outside of the maybe 1 guild that actually does mythic on your server and all the realms are populated by shitters who endlessly complain for even MORE casualization. Blizzard has locked themselves into a death spiral by giving into demands to make the game less socially friendly and increasingly casualized.
