Not an option. There's only one doorway leading to the bay, and they can kill you over a hundred times, while you're climbing up from the bottom of the bottomless pit.

Survival starts with just 1 alien and all humans (or w/e two races it's configured to). They can't really forget about you, if you're the only enemy on the server.
