"The Incom T-65 X-wing is the fighter that killed the Death Star. An almost perfect balance of speed, maneuverability, and defensive shielding make it the fighter of choice for Rogue Squadron."
I'm probably pretty slow on the uptake here but...
It only just now donned on me that if they're making a Rogue Squadron movie, we're going to be seeing another Rogue Squadron game in the future.
Oh hey a thread about the best Star Wars game? I approve.
>still emulates like ass.
What a shame
WERE IS OUR SUPPORT!?
>>319716636
RS3
>>319716551
It isn't rogue squadron. It's about the crew that stole the death star plans.
>>319716990
Rogue Squadron 3 would have been better without the on foot missions.
Did you ever get all the gold medals?
>>319716241
Christ, I even read it in the voice
>>319716241
I roll 3 dice.
You lose 2 health points. your turn.
>>319717508
Neil Ross or the other guy?
>>319717157
Such a stupid concept for a movie. It's not a broad enough concept to make an interesting prequel.
>they meet up
>they go get the plans
>they die
Shadows of the Empire is overrated.
>>319716241
I've always wondered why the fuck would someone name a squadron from a lipstick.
>>319716551
EA has exclusive access rights to Star Wars video games for years to come btw :)
>>319717157
I don't see any Bothans there
>>319718136
Bothans were the second death star silly
>>319716551
Is that Donnie Yen on the right? Why the fuck is he in it?
Why the big hurry?
If Dr Caroll is not extracted tonight, dataDyne will put him through mind conditioning, and we’ll lose our best chance of finding out what dataDyne are up to.
Are they all expendable?
Don’t joke! You have to be careful, Joanna. Code keys will only work while the owner is alive… if you kill them, the key is useless. Armed guards are a different matter of course.
>>319717948
Well they could frame it as a kind of high stakes heist movie.
>>319718136
>see
>bothan
The second rogue squadron was good, but some parts of it were a mess. Having teammates hurt you since they stole kills you needed in order to get ranks. They added a targetting computer, which you could NEVER use or you wouldn't get gold. And every level was timed in some way, with an allied target in danger of blowing up or enemies escaping or some shit.
Rogue Squadron 1 was a lot less polished, but a lot more open. I would sometimes play a level and destroy every last structure, just because I could, with no hidden timer out there to screw me over.
>>319718337
>The second rogue squadron was good, but some parts of it were a mess. Having teammates hurt you since they stole kills you needed in order to get ranks.
Just always tell them to fuck off as soon as the mission starts.
>>319717157
FUCK YOU FOR RETCONNING KYLE KATARN
>>319718469
Well I did, but my point is that it added new features and then built the gameplay around specifically not using them.
>>319718258
>WHY.. ME...
>>319718258
I asshhuuume you have some?
>>319718746
Obongo was predicted by RARE
Y-Wing>X-Wing.
>>319719203
Can't even outturn a star destroyer.
>>319719384
Who needs to outrun it when I could bomb it into oblivion?
>>319719708
Apparently any fighter can just take one of those things down in like a minute flat. Makes me wonder why the Empire even bothered.
>>319719203
mah niggah.
>>319719384
According to ILM, the Y-wing was only marginally less maneuverable than the X-Wing and TIE fighter. To me the Y-wing was always more of a multirole anyway, like an F-15E.
Well, more like an F-4G. Older tech but still quite serviceable. Whereas the X-wing is more like an F-15C, it can do bombing runs but its mostly a space superiority fighter.
A-Wing is like an F-22 or F-16, "Not a pound for air-to-ground" (or at least they wanted to, they both are capable to ATG strikes, but i digress.)
B-wing is hard to place, somewhere between a B-1B and an A-10, as it was meant to motherfuck capital ships...
>>319720203
They can fuck off permanent like for getting rid of the v-wing.
>>319719960
To be fair, I don't think the builders anticipated Kamikaze attacks directly on the bridge.
>>319720417
World devastators never stood a fucking chance.
>>319716241
Our stabilizer's broken loose again. R2, see if you can't lock it down!
>[affirmative beeping]
>>319720428
The shields were down, it was basically a sitting duck.
>>319718253
>Is that Donnie Yen
Yes
>Why the fuck is he in it?
Why not? hes in enough retarded Chinese action movies.
>>319720636
R2!
R2!
GAH, WHERE COULD HE BEEEE
>Rebel scum tries to terrorize the Empire near me
>>319720417
Quite possibly the strongest alliance fighter by far.
And I love every bit of that OP son of a bitch
>>319721162
For this mission, you will be flying Missile Boat Mu 1. You will have no wingmen. Your craft will be armed with 40 advanced missiles and 20 heavy rockets.
>>319721162
The missile boat. The second most overpowered ship in all of Star Wars.
>>319722209
Whats the first?
>>319722536
Has to be the Sun Crusher.
Why is it always the XWing? AWing was always more of a bitch to fight. Also Advanced Tie Fighter.
It always bothered me that in the Rogue Squadron games, enemy TIE fighters and even TIE interceptors are represented as moving slower than Y-Wings. It's probably a gameplay consideration though.
Reminder that both GCN Rogue Squadrons work in Dolphin now and are thus fully playable at HD resolutions.
>>319716241
>No commentary on the Naboo Starfighter
I think it was before the Movie was out but they could have cheesed it
>>319724286

the music is now playing in your head
>>319716241
>Shitty 3rd world knock off of a Clone Wars age ship that is only in use because Rebels are too poor and disconnected to buy the good stuff
>LMAO it's good because it blew up the Death Star
>Forget about the 30 other X Wings that got assfucked by standard tie fighters in that fight
>Forget that Luke was the pilot of the one that did anything and that he was only able to do so because his buddy came back at the last second to save his ass
>>319724286
I've never had any luck with emulating either one of them. The audio is always way fucked up, and it always crashed
"The Port of Adia. This once-peaceful coastal village has been utterly destroyed by the Dinosoid army under the Primagen's command. In the hills surrounding the city, the battle wages on as stragglers are hunted down ruthlessly.
The Dinosoids are genetically engineered dinosaur hybrids. They are utterly evil and very dangerous. Though they do the Primagen's bidding, the Dinosoids have a more sinister and personal agenda of their own: to see humankind wiped from the face of the Earth. Your mission objectives are as follows:
Activate three distress beacons.
Rescue four children.
Activate the Warp Portals.
Locate the Energy Totem and defend it at all costs."

People always hate on them but they always held a slight charm to me. Probably because they reminded me of the stupid crazy shit the Nazis thought up.
>>319728083
>>319727786
Do these all appear in Rogue Squadron? How many types of TIE fighters do you need?
The current record holder for this track is...
>>319728919
>>319728919
lol the only ones in RS as far as I know are the standard fighter, bomber, and interceptor, plus the droid in one mission

Fuck what are these books called again?
I remember this from a book series where they went into detail in Star Wars machinery and weaponry as if they were real - with drawings like these.

I really like this design
