Why is PCSX2 so complicated compared to other emulators? Or maybe I'm just retarded.
>>
Why mess with that shit when you give Sony money to play PS2 games on the PS4?
>>
>>319684758
Because I have no money and the games I want are not on there

first use the http://pcsx2.net/config-guide/official-english-pcsx2-configuration-guide.html
to get started and then

you can use the wiki that usually lists recommended settings for every game and how well it runs

Probably at least to some degree.

Setting up a game with PCSX2 only takes some time if you want it to look nicer than the console version.

Not OP but how do widescreen patches work? Do they work with any game whatsoever?

I want to give LCS a try and the ps2 version runs like shit on ps3/has no proper widescreen support
>>
>>319685418
Those only work on certain types of games, and even then all you'd have to do is check the widescreen patches tick in System.

Not OP, but what are some good, stable games to emulate?

I emulated Gran Turismo 4 and played it for quite a long time but it was sort of a pain in the ass to get it running smoothly in 1080p. It was also super CPU intensive and my overclocked 4.4Ghz i5 3570k could just barely keep up with the game.

Any ,iso's that are more just plug and play?

OP, you are a retard.

An ISO is a file that pretends to be optical media. It does nothing but pack the optical media's content inside.

If you're "unzipping" or "de-packaging" the ISO, all you'll see is the contents of the DVD for that game in particular. Same thing will happen if you mount it. Just load the fucking ISO without touching it on the emulator.

This is probably a dumb question, but the file IS a .iso extention, yes?

Next to where your window says filename, there's a dropdown box that'll say "All Supported" or something similar. Select it to "All Files." It should show up then.

But again, if the file IS indeed an .iso, you shouldn't have to do that. My other suggestion is try mounting the file in Daemon or something similar and booting it as CDVD in PCSX2.

PCSX2 is one of the easiest emulators and the only issues you should have are with sound syncing and occasional graphical glitches in certain games. Which most are fixable with experimenting with the emulation settings.

OP is having a problem even extracting a .rar for the initial .iso, for whatever reason.

Real talk. I'm so fucking grateful for PCSX2, almost all the games I throw at it run great and upscaled. The PS2 has a phenomenal library for all tastes, possibly the best ever.

but yes, PCSX2 could be much better

When you pay for something it's not a gift dumdum.

Sony is not your friend, it's a giant multi-billion dollar international corporation.

To show or hide file name extensions

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.

Click the View tab, and then, under Advanced settings, do one of the following:

To show file name extensions, clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.
Now change the .7z extension of the file to .iso

If that does not work, find a download link that has a .iso extension. Or google around for a .7z to .iso converter program.

You're welcome.

Or he could just, you know, extract the fucking file.

I don't care about file extensions, I don't even know what those are. All I want is to turn this FES into and iso.

Anyone else hyped for when OP finds out that his shitty 400 dollar Best Buy laptop can't run PCSX2 without it dipping into single digit frames?

That's what he originally did >>319686630, only it was an iso, and he didn't know because his shitty file extraction program associated itself with iso files and he has file extensions turned off.
>>
>>319693094
Why don't you have 7zip installed? Uninstall that shitty unziplite thing.

Holy fucking shit, OP.
Take the 7z file you downloaded from Emuparadise and open it, you'll get the iso. That's fucking it. DON'T extract the files inside the iso.
