I did enjoy Bethesda's attempt to steal The Kings (thematically) and put them in Fallout 4 as the Atom Cats. Completely remove the context and any meaning behind it, that's the bethesda way.

It's a tiny group of stupid young people inexplicably using 1950s slang for no reason and they're all power armour experts and they live in an almost totally isolated area away from any significant civilisation and yet they haven't been instantly steamrolled by any of the angry factions around there, despite the fact that it's 4 of them defending a chainlink fence.

Because in Bethesda, you aren't directly called a "Chosen One" but you're treated as one in their in-house developed Fallout games, namely due to being related to your father and Father respectively. You're given multiple accolades, treated as Wasteland Jesus, and manage to beat back the bad guys, woo hoo! Also, they used chosen ones in Morrowind and Skyrim, so therefore they've done it more than Black Isle's once.

In Fallout 2, numerous instances of dialogue throughout your village implies you weren't the Chosen One just out of your relation to the Vault Dweller, but they don't elaborate on what unless your build fits it - like if you go low INT, it's very consistently implied and sometimes even said they just want you to leave because you're an annoying and blithering retard. As you play, you don't become Wasteland Jesus - but you do become recognized as either a threat or a good sign because wherever you go, things do change. FOr better or for worse is what they don't know. Whereas in Fallout 3/4, if you go there you're obviously gonna make it all spiffy and nice because how else could you be the hero?

Okay, people love to get on Bethesda's case for being so black and white, but it's not like Fallout 1 and 2 were the pinnacle of morally gray. Fallout 1's antagonist is a mutant forcing other people to become super mutants in an attempt to take over the wasteland and Fallout 2 literally starts with the Enclave massacring a group of vault dwellers.

I've tried running the game with a minimum amount of mods as well, no texture mods or the ENB and it still kept crashing. For whatever reason I never had these issues when using a pirated version.

All of the above, though nv4gb doesn't recognize NV on Steam, it basically launches it as a third party executable and prevents me from obtaining achievements. A minor complaint, but still annoying.

He's an AI with preprogrammed information courtesy of the ever-surveying Mr. House.

And even then, Mr. House most likely gets a lot of his information from word-of-mouth (Which a point is made in-game that shit spreads really fast due to merchants and couriers), and a LOT of the NV quests do influence your reputation, funnily enough. It's almost like it's a relevant mechanic. And early on, Mr. New Vegas doesn't directly reference the Courier at all. He only really gets recognized after killing Benny should one go straight along the plot railroad.

Aside from that, Mr. New Vegas does mention other figures, such as Mr. House himself and Legate Lanius.

the BoS aren't hostile towards the other two factions in their ending, but in all 3 other endings they get wiped out because everyone hates them second most to the institute, and with how easy their zeppelin goes down it makes you wonder how they aim to keep their foothold

How the fuck is that an achievement? It's not exactly difficult when you make them intelligent and practically fucking angelic, apart from the starvation-induced raids.
The only thing that's grey about that situation is the fact that despite being well-meaning they could still be a threat to humanity, which is mentioned off-hand by one or two characters and cleanly resolved halfway through the game by having them slaughtered by the Enclave.

Don't use NMM.
For the longest time I used it, and I swear its because of it my FNV never worked for any extended period of time.

Mod Organizer is the way forward. After installing your mods, just click sort and does the load order for you. I've never had a crash yet, and I've recently clocked another 300 hours of quality gameplay.

Bethesda has a tendency to make really good DLC, which at times has a better plot and cast of characters then the main game. The only problem is that they are really short, so they aren't given any proper exploration.
